You must have used a doctor that does not specialize in implants.

One thing you should not have been inflated over one and one half squeezes (20%) on the pump post op and should have been that way the whole six weeks to help with soreness at activation.

Next you should have been told to ware your penis up on your belly pointed at your navel for 4-6 weeks. This helps with healing, pain and having a straight penis. This is in the AMS manual. If you like I can post a copy.

NO DOCTOR should put a patient through that much pain. EVER. Is he a doctor or Quack?

I know some have a different pain lever. I only took one pain pill after each of my surgery's. I have had both scratal and pubic approach. The scrotal was a little more painful but nothing like you describe.

I looked up your doctor. He looks like general practice urologist.

I never heard a "doctor" do such a thing.

Jack, I haven't done a lot of comparisons with doctors for the implant surgery, to be honest. However, after a year of seeing counselors, therapists, and other general urologists to rule out the "mental aspect" of ED, I was referred to Dr. Sadeghi as one of the best ED doctors in the country, and definitely in the region. I've been working with him ever since, and have been satisfied with his work.

I believe he's done somewhere around 1000 implants.

I do have confidence in his work and credentials. I'm aware of bending the penis upwards, as I have been doing it since the surgery. I believe that the implant was probably inflated around 30-50% (I really have no idea, I just know that it's considerably deflated now). As of right now, I would say that it's around 10-20% inflated. It's deflated to the point where I can comfortably bend the penis downward or upward (downward so I can pee, upward for the rest of the day).

I have a very high threshold for certain types of pain, but any sharp pains in the groin/pubic/scrotal area is my particular weakness. The added anxiety of having pain in those areas seems to make the pain much worse. The catheter, for example, was definitely the worst pain of my life. The implant deflation was #2, mostly because of how long it lasted, and the fact that I had to return knowing how bad the pain was going to be again.

On a positive note, the swelling continues to go down, and I returned to work today for the first time in 10 days. I started driving yesterday, and moved out of my parents' place back to my usual residence. I was able to move my stuff from my car by myself (nothing too heavy, mostly clothes), and even clean my room without much pain at all. The driving is a lot more comfortable than I figured it would be.

The first day of work had some times of irritable pain, as I wasn't used to not having my reclining chair to retreat to when I felt uncomfortable. I also didn't tell my cooworkers that I just had surgery, because I don't want to bring attention to myself at the office. It's an odd culture at my office, and they would ask me a ton of questions resulting in me making up stories, or having to tell the embarassing truth. I'd rather keep the whole thing under wraps :) Luckily, I'm able to walk around pretty well enough so that nobody would expect anything.

Gaining my usual mobility and flexibility back every day is a very assuring feeling. I DO have to admit, though, that I miss being able to masturbate. I'm not sure when exactly is the right time to attempt to do so again. I may be able to right now, but I figure I'll wait at least until the 3 week mark before I try such adventures again.

I appreciate the concern! As of right now, this doc has been there with me the entire way, and he still has my utmost confidence. I'll continue to post my experiences in hopes that others learn from it, but I also love any feedback from anybody who has had the surgery, or is curious of the surgery.

Just because the doctor is the head of a urology department and treats ED does not make him an implant specialist. No where did I find that he is a Male Sexual Function Specialist. Did find a lot about what most general practice urologtist do,and yes the do implants but not very well.

If you have read my story I went to the head of the Department of Urology at UT Memphis, after the "best urologist" in Memphis punctured my ureathra on my first implant attempt. I had started doing tons of reasearch and found that I knew more about peyronies and implants than he did. DUH !!! That lead my search to Dr. Milam at Vanderbilt.

All the pain the doctor caused you was not nessary. When you leave the hospital you should not be inflated over 20-30%, or just enough for the tips of the implant to reach the glans. This is not uncomfortable and will help reduce soreness at activation in 6 weeks.

Glad to hear the swelling has gone down and you are able to return to work. Be careful about lifting, I was on a 15 pound lifting restriction. Most men do not tell there employer or fellow workers that they are gitting an implant, most say it is hernia surgery or something simular.

As for masturbation. Sex is out for the first six weeks. Realistic most of us masturbate at about 4 weeks and that does not usually cause a problem. If it is painfull STOP !!! Also be very careful not to hurt your self, be gentle. If you talk your partner into oral be sure to use a condom because of the risk of infection.

What implant do you have? The AMS LGX, CX or Coloplast Titan?

I will say that all the pain you had is worse than any I have ever chatted with in over 2 years. Just does not seam real that a doctor would do that to you.

I had mine 22+ months ago so if I can offer any advice just let me know.
