Re: Burning sensation along shaft
Yes the burning pain is just your penis skin being stretched. Once it’s broken in the burning pain will go away. I had the Coloplast rep come to my six week appt with Dr and show me how to use the pump. He explained that when you pump up close to or max at first you feel burning sensation so it’s normal.

He specifically stated that he was NOT inflated very much at all so his skin is NOT being stretched so pain from stretching is not what he is in reference to.

I don't remember having pain on the first implant, but on the second or revision I did experience some pain, not bad. But what I experienced more was itching on my scrotum, but it could have been from the hair growing back out. But it all goes away after about six weeks, and then look out women, the man is back.
You guys will never regret it. I would do it a third time if I had to. To me suffering from ED is very depressing.
First insurance paid everything, and the second was a medicare advantage and they also paid everything. And this problem all started with prostrate cancer.

do not follow his advice about not touching the pump. Keep it moving around in your scrotum. My doc said don't touch it when I asked him about just moving it around in my scrotum. He was wrong. At the end of 4 weeks it was attached to my left testicle with scar tissue. Every one here will tell you to keep pulling it down and keep it moving..

I can’t understand how differently these doctors follow up with their patients. My doctor doesn’t even want me touching the pump until I am almost two months out.
I kind of thought this pain was from being stretched. Like I said nothing was explained to me so I had no idea what to expect.
Thanks for your reply.
Who is your surgeon and where did he learn his technique? Sounds like he may have learned from (the teaching professor) my doc at USC Keck in Los Angeles. I looked back in your posts.. Dr Garber... But he seems to have the same technique as my doc and a lot of extra pain was endured for no reason.

Dr. Garber is a professor at Drexel institute in Philadelphia. He teaches the procedure, having done thousands of them. Check out his web site.

I was a little concerned when you talked about the pump adhering to your testicle. Did you have to have surgery to fix it?
Remember, my pump is in an empty sac because my testicle was removed.
My scrotum is still sore.

@hawkman
He also stated that his surgeon is not a great communicator and he did not know the percentage of his inflation. With a new implant as he is only 17 days out he could be experiencing the stretching a bit.

Oldbeek is absolutely correct. As I have said several times on here, surgeons are the experts on implanting them but after that, only our implanted members are the experts.

Re: Burning sensation along shaft
I also had burning during inflation as it was stretching back out. It goes away
Implanted March 2nd by Dr. Kramer with AMS/LGX. Had a problem lower left (scar tissue) and he placed a larger (thicker) implant as you can here on the YouTube video. Got all back, ED over 10 years before Implant.

My surgeon was also a professor at USC LA and had done thousands over 30 years. Maybe these old professors don't want to learn new ways. As for my pump attachment to my testical. Over 4 weeks daily in the hot tub I would gently push the pump down and the testical up. They are now somewhat separated but it feels like there Is a testical cord laying on top of the release block. I have to move it over to press the release button.
