Had a Coloplast Titan inserted on Dec 01, 2017 & removed 28 days later due to complications. Surgery & Removal was completed at Tampa General in FLA. First issue was the movement & disappearance of the reservoir which had been placed in the right lower area of my abdomen. I had to submit to an MRI so they could find out where it moved too. Second issue was nearly a month out right before removal it was still quite painful & I could not return to work. Lastly I had this procedure due to prostate removal. Prior to the doctor removing it, he inflated it fully & I was shocked at how much length as well as Garth I had lost since the removal of my prostate. Upon receiving the report from the pathology dept. when it was removed, they noted as being defective however when I question my doctor unless he brushed it off stating they have to put that to get reimbursed from the insurance company. Within a day of it being removed I got a major infection in my scrotal area. The doctor said the implant had nothing to do with the infection since it did not occur until after the removal but other doctors have since told me the implant was most likely infected. I am very disappointed with the care I received in Tampa. The “world renowned “ Surgeon who was supposed to install the implant sent his underlying who was totally unprepared and had to cancel and reschedule. (Never saw this expert again) and two other underlings installed as well as removed. Lastly they never repaired the Peyronies as they said they would. When I inquired why, I was told they had second thoughts during surgery and believed the implant would eventually straighten it out. I apologize for complaining just want others to avoid my situation.
Thank you for reading this far & now for my questions.
I initially thought I cannot would never try this again however I have a new doctor at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Florida Who is going to reevaluate me this November for the possibility of a second implant attempt. Does anyone have any experience with the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Regarding implants. The care I have received there so far from the urology dept. for other issues has been nothing less than excellent And I cannot say enough how well they care for me. I cannot imagine going back to the coloplast & will inquire about the AMS if I decide to move forward and if it is an option.
My penis is a shadow of what it once was in length & girth & honestly, embarrassing. Is this even worth it ?
Thank you for any advice you can provide.

Re: Doctor Referral
To answer your last question, yes it is worth it. An excellent surgeon can get the most out of what you have. Go for it!!! Consult with Dr Perito as well if you haven’t already.
Re: Doctor Referral
'Was Perito your "world class" surgeon with his students doing the work? Identifying the "world class" surgeon may help a lot of folks in the future.

Re: Doctor Referral
I wasn’t sure if we could identify the surgeon by name but since you asked. Dr. Carrion. Very disappointed. One of my previous urologist recommended him as best of the best. Another doc told me his father was a pioneer in the implant field. Met with him several times before the implant and we had a specific game plan however that changed without consulting me and he never showed for my 3 surgical appointments regarding the implant nor did he ever call after my complications or removal. Dr. Loeb and another surgeon did the procedure and removal however I cannot recall the other doctors name who was more concerned with starting his Christmas vacation rather than the disappearing reservoir. Another horror story which should’ve been a blues clue to leave and go elsewhere, they injected bimix in the office (pre-implant) and sent me home before ensuring it went down. It didn’t and I had to return two hours later for relief to release the blood as it was becoming painful and discomforting. unfortunately ice did not work. I was praying I would pass out when he unwrapped the turkey baster of a needle to drain the blood.
I have had very good care at Tampa General from other doctors, nurses but this was a huge let down & I would not recommend them for anything related to erectile dysfunction.
Thank you for your responses it if anyone has anything to add about their personal experiences with the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Regarding implants, anyone having a second implant installed after a failure, or how your dr. Dealt with peronyies please advise. I greatly appreciate your input.

Re: Doctor Referral
These are some of the questions to ask. How good other care is at the clinic are not very relevant in my mind.
1. How many of these implants does this doctor do every year (the answer should be at least 100)
2. Is this his specialty or does he perform other urological surgeries and treatments
3. What is HIS infection rate (do not let him quote national statistics)
4. Is he committed to one brand of the implant or does he have a choice for the best match to your situation
5. Has he ever removed an implant he just inserted in the OR and discarded it to replace it with one that fit better? (A Dr. needs to go into the OR with choices of implants by his side. Even after inserting a measured implant a good surgeon will sometimes realize his best result will come with another implant and he will quickly change it out. Others make do.
6. Will he take measurement prior to surgery and promise you what your minimum size will be after surgery and initial cycling? (If not, find one of the surgeons that will)

Re: Doctor Referral
Also, start VED immediately to regain as much loss as possible between now and the implant.

I will tell you this in a private message because some of these guys freak out when you disagree with them. With regards to Hawkman's suggestion number 6, if you can find a surgeon who will promise you anything, he is a fucking liar. I was a paramedic for 15 years and have worked in health care since 1990 and I can tell you that NO surgeon can honestly promise you anything. All surgery comes with risks, even the risk of death. The risks are so minor that you shouldn't worry about them but they are there none the less. The surgeon can't promise you anything because he can't tell anything until he sees the whole surgical field, presence of scar tissue, atrophy, etc. If you get an implant, insist on the AMS LGX. It is the only implant that works on increasing length and girth permanently. It has a coating that has an antibiotic in it and looks a lot more natural than the Coloplast. Keep us all posted.

Re: Doctor Referral
I too would recommend looking into the LGX. My doctor only used the Titan which turned into a disaster for me.
