Brave man, and also lucky to have Dr. Eid perform the surgery. May you get the outcome you desire, manageable pain ending with a bang!
I had a video appointment with Dr. Eid on Moday, August 6th. I had to cancel it because of the entire surgical cost. In Canada it's free. Since it not "essential" there are long waiting lists.
If I had enough money, Dr. Eid would be my surgeon of choice.

Sounds good!Hawkman wrote:i was shocked at how NOT traumatized it looked. i suspect the swelling and bruising will set in in the next day or two.
I hope you will be pleasantly surprised at how little swelling and bruising actually occurs.
Be sure to ask Dr Eid when he wants you to activate, since you will be home by then.

Warren, he told me prior to surgery on day 3 not counting surgery day. That will be Friday ASSUMING I am confident I have identified and activated the deflate button as you reminded me in our phone conversation. I also firmly clarified that I could not over inflate the implant enough in those initial days to damage any of his work or hurt the outcome. He said most men are not aggressive enough. In a bit of an overstatement, I told him I would take two pain pills, bite a towel and pump. He smiled and said fine.
He also told me to remove the catheter on Friday, preferably in the morning.

Re: i am currently in surgery and posting live
I cannot over stress that I do NOT have some rare high pain threshold. And while I am not squeamish by most standards I have my limits. I don’t really like to even watch videos of metal measuring rods being shoved in someone else’s penis. While I have watched several implant videos they challenge my fortitude. While I enjoyed and even laughed at some of the comments at my feat of being awake, it really was not a challenge at all.
Before I got to the OR I was only about 70% sure I would endure to the end without throwing in the towel. I was even slightly down about what I was headed into and whether I was biting off more than was psychologically prudent. My confidence came from my friend that had orthopedic surgery with saws and hammers with a spinal block and enjoyed the process. I kept telling myself if he could do that I could do this. Once in the OR however all apprehension left. I enjoyed meeting the team, their comradery, the humor and the technical aspects. There was no sense of being touched except when they rubbed antiseptic high on my abdomin. I had zero awareness of my incision and the dreaded metal measuring rods. I was talking and had to ask if that had been done. Of all I am apt to go through during recovery and healing, I am sure that will be the easiest. It is no overstatement to say it was very enjoyable. I am cringing now more from my aching burning junk and the thought of unbandaging. Looking at my freshly implanted penis was just totally informative. Probably because there was zero sensation and it looked pretty much undamaged.
Do yourself a favor and consider it. A bond with your team can never hurt and it was nice to have no after-effect from general anesthesia. As a footnote, because I fought to walk as soon as possible, the spinal got me through NYC and 3 hours toward home with an amazing level of comfort.

Re: i am currently in surgery and posting live
Oh my gosh !!!! To all those that thought I was brave for being awake and posting during surgery, I have discovered who the real manly heroes are. It is those that check in a hotel room alone for the first few days. I fell like I went through hell after my spinal wore off. Had I not left NYC yesterday, I don’t think I would be riding 4 hrs home today.
The first 3 hours of the trip caused me to drop my guard. It was pleasant and I didn’t even feel like I had surgery. I got lulled into the thought that either Dr. Eid was so good that the trauma is very minimized, or that my surgical prep with anti-inflammatory supplements and my good physical condition had me sailing through this. Well it did not take long to get reality check. By the time we pulled up to the house I was sitting there trying to figure out how I was going to get out of the car and get in the house. Once inside I still had to get up a flight of stairs to the bedroom. The next 12 hours were hell. My junk burned like it was on fire. I had random shooting pains in my penis and scrotum but mostly in the perinium that felt like they involved the anus. I layed flat on my back and iced and hardly moved to the point that my back and ribs got sore after several hours. I felt I could not have gotten up if the house had been on fire. I actually was shivering at one point was concerned I was developing a fever but my wife said I felt cool. I was taking 2 Percocet every 4 hours and only getting about 2 hrs of pain relief. I began to get worried about what I would do if things deteriorated because I could not begin to invision another trip to Manhattan. I now think that 4 hour ride and climbing a flight of stairs was just too much trauma especially since my spinal block masked the pain and had me sitting up in the car seat with a bag of ice on the bandage.
Starting at about 7:00 AM (24 hrs after the start of surgery) I began to feel some relief from pain and reduce my Percocet to 1 about every 5 hours. I have not had a bowel movement even though I started stool softeners the day before surgery. In a way it is good I did not have one last night because I would have probably had to lay there and crap the bed
Thank heavens I feel like I have turned the corner. Maybe I would have never gone through that if I had walked 50 feet to the hotel and gone to bed but if I had, I would have never survived without someone to look after me. All I could think is what would it be like to be alone in a hotel feeling that bad.

Good for you! The only surgery I got to watch was implant pellets in my but and many years ago when they extracted a bullet from my leg. Neither were as exciting as yours. I just got my implant today under gen anas. Don't even remember falling asleep. they didn't warn me. Anyway it has been 13 hours and no swelling or pain. My Wife looked at my scrotum and said it was darker, from the iodine they use but no discoloration yet. Going to sleep now, the morning may bring a surprise, By the way if you don't mind how long were you before surgery and how long are you now? My max was 7.1 going in now I'm not sure but with 18cm and 3 cm rte my guess is about 5.8 inches +-
