Similar situation here with an AMS 700. I’ll be five weeks postop on the 24th. Up until a week ago I was unable to compress the bulb at all but it wasn’t because of pain, it just wouldn’t compress. Since then I’ve had more progress with the bulb but I’m not all that impressed nor am I impressed with the progress of the cylinders. With quite a bit of pressure I can compress the bulb and it takes about 5 seconds to do so, then the bulb takes a good 10 secs just to refill. The cylinders fill somewhat over the course of about 10 mins but not enough for sex and then they seem to stop firming up despite the bulb remaining compressible. It’s quite frustrating and it’s hard to believe this is normal but that is what my surgeon has been telling me.
Anyone else with an AMS 700 with similar or different experiences?

When I first started to squeeze the bulb it was as hard as a marble. I sat it a tub of hot water and it did get a bit easier to compress. For about a week or 2 all I could get was 10 pumps. It then got a bit easier to work the pump. Be patient and keep trying.

Heating pads, hot baths, squeezing the sides for striction, all to no avail. It’s still still as hell and causes pretty good pain having to squeeze this hard. I don’t know what to do. I spoke to AMS rep last week and did everything she said. Still nothing is making it easier. I should be able to cycle this daily. I’m able after deflation to get it to about 60 % erect. But that’s it. I’m afraid that I’m losing my window of gaining length and girth. I leave it at 60%. But don’t know if that’s enough. Scared to death that something is wrong. I’m still having considerable pain at incision.

Are you trying the two-handed approach, stacking both thumbs on top and both index fingers on the bottom? This gives you much more compression strength. AMS has a video demonstrating the various pumping techniques. As the weeks or months go on, you should be able to increase your number of pumps. I am approaching month 6 and am finding this to be true. Hang in there. For some of us, it takes more time to heal. like I said, I am at month 6 and just starting to have penetrative sex. It still hurts a bit but I'm thinking : no pain, no gain at this point.

is the surgeon able to fully inflate you in the office? That would be a clue as to whether your technique or manual strength is not adequate.

Not sure this will help you, I use my index finger behind the pump like a J (like a hook) & press with my thumb (opposite the knuckle of the thumb) better control for me. It doesn't seem to slip off as easy.

Just revised to the lgx 5 days ago. Doc left me pumped up till day 2. Then he released it. At day 5 this flaccid look I have is nothing like my titan flaccid.

I am not supposed to pump up for a couple weeks. He moved reservoir to my left side when took titan out and wants the reservoir full. Tips of this lgx are well in glans.

Nervous, but will have see if this lgx does what the titan did. Pump is definitely a lot larger.
18 cm plus 1 rte titan installed March 2019. Revision March 2020 by Dr. Andrew Todd, Richmond KY. He replaced the titan with an AMS 700 LGX 18 cm cylinder plus 2 rte for 20 cm total length.

It’s so hard to pump even when deflated.
Implant March 2020. 64 years old. retired. Unable to get erect due to medication and diabetes. Received AMS 700 LGX , 5cm on right and 6cm left. 18x12 .Revision done in may 2020 because cylinder in right side fell out.

He didn’t try on my last visit 2 wks ago, only said the bulb was working despite it feeling barely compressible. It’s definitely compressible now, albeit stiff and slow going. Trying to get an appt by the end of this week to go over it again with the surgeon. For about a week now I’ve spent approximately 60 mins pumping the bulb every night but only getting modestly firm. I’m leaving the cylinders as filled as I can seem to get them overnight and deflating them in the mornings.
