I pressed the sides hard then tried to deflate again. I don’t think anything happened. I’m still hard but I’m pointing down. I was pointing straight out at 90 degrees after surgery.
Maybe this is my new flaccid?
I inflated a half a pump but I’m afraid to do anything else for fear of not being able to deflate.
Think I’ll leave things alone until my appointment next week.

I am curious, where is the deflate button, is it not on one of the sides of the block above the bulb? Or is it on the top side of the block?

Ok so the block has 6 sides. The front and back. The top and bottom. And the right and left side or ends. The deflate button is either in the middle of the front or back depending on which way it is facing. They are talking about squeezing the right and left side or ends in toward the deflate button. These sides are the smallest sides of the block as it is rectangle shaped.

Thanks so much! Everything is clear now.

Update: all is good. Just came from the doc and I wasn’t being aggressive enough squeezing the shaft while I deflated.

I have a follow up next week but hoping to figure this out sooner than that.

I note that the instruction to hold the deflate button for a specific length of time is absolutely and totally wrong for my pump. I have experimented extensively with the deflate procedure (again, this is on my AMS LGX implant from 2017). I have no reason to believe my pump valve body works any differently from any other AMS device.

See this thread for a discussion that touches on the difference between AMS' instruction that time is the essential element for deflation vs depth of button depression as the essential element for deflation.

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10290

I can depress the deflate button partway and get deflation (I can feel the vibration of the fluid passing from implant to reservoir and see my erection diminish) for any length of time. When I release the button, deflation stops.

When I depress the deflate button fully (and this takes no time at all if I do it right away, or can take place after many seconds of deflation as described above), I feel a soft click (the valve "kicking over" to permanent deflate mode) and after that, deflation without depressing the button at all.

I find that squeezing my penis to get deflation is not necessary if the implant is fully inflated. Fluid flow into the reservoir is spontaneous until my erection falls below 60% or so. Perhaps it is because your implant is new and not fully "broken in" yet.

It's preaty heavy duty... you need it that way so we can mistreat it as often as possible ;)

If you press and hold the deflate button and squeeze the bulb, that resets the pump... This is good to know when you are having problems at 10pm and your only other choice is emerg with every nurse on planet earth staring at you. :)

Due to the reservoir being above the cylinders and the pump below them, the best you can get without squeezing the cylinders is equilibrium where the fluid pressure is the same in the cylinders, pump and reservoir. There will be more pressure in the cylinders than the reservoir because they're lower, thus LS's "60%" inflation when deflating naturally without squeezing.

To fully PUMP the fluid back into the reservoir there must be additional pressure applied to the cylinders to overcome the fluid equilibrium.

I can tell you that I have absolutely no doubts about it’s durability. After being squeezed and even twisted a bit that hard to get it completely deflated I know it can withstand anything that I ever put it through. Or in. Lol.

Thanks guys. All of you are awesome.

I think the difference in elevation between the implant tubes and the reservoir creates a negligible difference in pressure.

3 or 4 inches (less than 10cm) generates a pressure differential of about 0.01 psi. From what I have read, the typical pressure in an implant is on the order of 10 psi or more (though I do not have confirmed data on that, only one pressure testing in a lab that took implants up to 20 PSI in order to measure bending loads).

It still will only provide equilibrium between all fluid filled parts of the implant unless additional pressure is added to the cylinders to force the fluid back into the reservoir. Unless the reservoir was mounted below the active device, physics and fluid-dynamics are unavoidable. With additional squeezing (pressure) on the cylinders, the reservoir can be made to hold a higher static pressure of fluid than would be possible if the compartments were all just opened to one another to flow freely as in switching the valve to deflate. Then there's still the effect of the check-valve in the pump that I didn't factor into the equation that adds additional resistance to getting fluid back into the reservoir.

To fully deflate I hold button till I hear/ feel the click. Then I squeeze my penis tip to base while applying pressure to the rest of my groin and peritoneum area. I can feel the fluid transfer to the reservoir. Following that I quickly squeeze the inflate bulb till it pops to prevent auto inflation. If I dont reset valve, it will auto inflate to a semi erection. Not uncomfortable, but too hard to hide. Took some time for the pump and tubing to break in to this point.
