To cycle or not to cycle that is the question

What area of the UK will you be having the procedure? Prof David Ralph of Harley Street London I believe does a few nhs implants along with his private patients. He is by far one of the best in the business in Europe and well known worldwide.

Wish you all the best. Im 3 months post op and my only regret was not doing it sooner. I would encourage you to read a few threads here on FT too. I did prior to my surgery and I cannot tell you how much I benefited from it and also enabled me to ask the right questions.

Im a little under 4 weeks post implant and I would say based on my experience and research it is tremendously important to cycle early and daily. I know you won't have control of picking your surgeon but make sure you inquire about his protocol. You want to hear that he cycles early and preferably uses the no touch technique..which allows aggressive sizing. Guys have gotten good results with different protocols but I'm a firm believer this gives you highest likelihood of success. I've linked a few videos from Dr Eid (considered best by many)that will give you insight. I suggest find his channel and watch all of them. You want to go into this with as much knowledge as possible!

Really good question. I think the better description is one touch. Basically it is a sugical procedure where something i.e. instraments, supplies & such stuff is only allowed to touch you one time. The goal is to avoid moving germs back & forth into the incision area. Now obviously some things do touch you more than once but an effort is made to keep that possible contamination to a minimum. I think that the low infection rate supports this method.
Maybe goolging "one touch surgery" might give you more information. Oh, also some implants come pre-coated with an antibiotic. Another good feature.

I was thinking about talking to the surgeon before surgery … do they mind you asking them to size me correctly it seems like I’ll be telling them their job .. I was always going to bring up about my concerns of loosing length so hopefully he will get the message and make sure I’m sized correctly .I will cycle as soon as the pain will allow me too it can’t do no harm

I would say don't worry about making him mad. Learn all you can from him which means asking lots of questions. Some docs think they know it all or act like it and act like you should know. Some are just willing to share their knowledge to be helpful. I also contacted the AMS rep in my area. If you are getting a Titan, contact the Coloplast rep in your area. There is an ad on this page above--you can use it to find a rep, I think. You will want to use cycling whether you have an AMS or Coloplast implant.
