Infrapubic Approach

I went to Karpman in the Bay area for infrapubic. Liked him a lot and would make the same trip if I had it to do over again. Very satisfied. I know it's a hike from PS, but even more for me. I live in Boise.

I am in the LA area. When I contacted Dr Karpman, he said I should go to Dr Boyd as he was in my own back yard. I also was going to go to Dr Karpman. He is very good.

I live in Palm Springs, Ca. and am interested in finding a surgeon that will perform the surgery using the infrapubic approach rather than the penis/scrotul approach. Minimally invasive too Any suggestions?

My research on the 2 methods have me thinking that either one is ok if done by a really good doctor. Some say infrapubic permits better reservoir placement and penoscrotal better pump placement. The tubing is another issue in that it is above the penis in infrabubic. And some men do not like that. And the scar is more visible with infrapubic. There is also a nerve bundle that must be avoided with infrapubic. Not an issue with a really good doctor but something to add to the mix with a low volume doctor. Penoscrotal has been said to have better access. And some say a slightly higher infection risk.

So yes the tubing in the video is normal with the infrapubic surgery. The pump is a bit higher than some and the scar is not unusual, but some even have 2 scars from this approach. Depends on the doctor. And something you should consider in your search for a doctor for this.
