How long after surgery couldn’t you wear clothes and normal underwear and be comfortable? Did you do infrapubic or scrotal? Which should make some difference.
Mine was infrapubic. I can wear any clothes, slacks, jeans, shorts etc, but my underwear is still the old school white underwear. Because I have a larger ball sac and being that I am following my doctor's advise to the letter. IE, I am not hurrying anything to have sex. I've waited 4 long years since my prostate removal to have sex again with my wife, I do not want to jeopardize anything that can go wrong to delay it any longer. The white underwear holds my penis upright, holds my scrotum with enough support that I can be out all day and be as active as possible. I tried using the high end boxer, but after a few hours I got pretty banged up and needed to rest and take a matrix to control the discomfort. My surgery was March 4th, being cycling for over a week (twice a day) and on the right course to start having sex on April 18th. Again, even though I am dying to use it, I want to give myself the best possible chance to have a successful outcome.
I did mention in another post that the person that finally convinced me to have this done, was a cousin of mine that had his prostate removed 15 years ago. He said that if you took a more conservative approach the first few weeks, the chances of recovery and be pain free rose dramatically.
May I ask what doctor you used? I’m going infrapubic and my doctor says I should be able to have sex after three weeks, how is your pain level now?
I went to various doctors in Miami, I even went to Dr. Perito, but I ended up do it with Dr.Nicholas Joseph Hauser at The University of Miami. Main reason was that I had Prostate Cancer and then 39 sessions of Radiation plus onto of that I did Hormone Suppressant Theraphy as well. I felt that I was just not another patient with ED, but a patient that has gone through some major issues with ED.
Honestly, for me trying to have sex after 3 weeks would not going to happen. I am following Dr Hauser's protocol to the letter and he recommends to wait 6-8 weeks. I am doing the latter. My procedure was March 4th and if everything goes as planned (so far so good) I pop my cherry April 18th.
A lot can go wrong if you are not healed enough. I have no pain nor discomfort, just getting used to this new me. I cycle 2 times a day (20-30 minutes each session) I started taking the daily 9mg Cialis pill to help with the gland. Also, a lot of guys are dong the Perito exercise, but Dr Hauser recommends that this exercise should happen while I am inside my wife. It is a more natural act. He believes I will receive the same benefits as if I am doing it myself, but being inside of her is a more natural way. There are a lot of nerves that still come into play and the last thing you want is to do it too much.
Pain level is 0 but occasional discomfort is I pump too much when I cycle. For example, I started with 10 pumps when I first saw him post op, and increased each daily cycle + 1 when the previous number didn't bother me. Today I am at 25 pumps and maybe tomorrow up to 26 and so forth. He said those numbers with get higher once I start having sex and my wife helps me break in the device.
