Flounder,
It sounds to me like you may be overdoing the cycling, the issues you refer to sound like they may be inflamed because they are being irritated by the cycling. I don't think you would risk anything by not cycling for a week or two to let this area cool down. I would certainly discuss it with your surgeon to see what he thinks you should do.
Why are you cycling so much? My surgeon doesn't put much emphasis on cycling, he says 2 to 3 times a week are completely adequate. A few weeks after I began to cycle and the majority of the swelling was gone, I measured for the first time, and I had all my length back. My wife and I have settled into having sex twice a week, we are 78 and 76 years old, and I probably cycle once between times. I just had my last appointment with my surgeon, 5-month checkup, and I was told if I had a period of time when we weren't having sex, I should cycle it once or twice a week to keep the valve from getting "sticky."
I mentioned all the emphasis on FT about cycling and the PA just kind of snickered, I assume he thinks to each his own, but he and the surgeon don't think it is necessary.

Who the heck is Dr. Yafi? I think he should listen to his surgeon who is the best implant surgeon in the world.

newbie443 wrote:. I had trouble getting help with this as my local doctors do not do repairs or replacement surgery. They only do the Implant or removal. I complained of the pain to my gastro doc and they did a CT scan……. I was able to get a copy of the CT scan and see a difference in the RTE's…….
FinallyBionic has some good advice. Try giving things a break like I posted earlier. If you are cycling twice a day skip a day and return with once a day………..
So do what you can to get by until the 5 month point. Then you can start thinking about it you want another surgery or not……..Good luck going forward with this.
Again thanks, my local Uro is similar to yours. Does a low volume of implants which is the reason I went to Dr. Eid. However if I can get my local Uro to order a CT scan, at least I might be closer to a diagnosis or hopefully some peace of mind that this is just going to take a long time to self correct.
I appreciate the comments that over doing the cycling could be the cause of pain in the pelvic floor. However, the Post Operative Inflation Instructions I received from Dr. Eid say to cycle daily. I interpreted that to mean once daily and have skipped a day here and there. In fact I have skipped 3 days and the pelvic pain returned as soon as I cycled. The instructions empathize the importance of fully inflating & deflating. They also say it’s normal to experience pain in the shaft of the penis and for it to be sore for the first 3 weeks of cycling. The shaft pain has pretty much faded away now. But the instructions didn’t say anything about expecting pain in the pelvic floor let alone lasting 3 months post surgery with little improvement. I guess I nhave a unique situation and I just need to keep searching for some relief.

Dr. Yafi is one of the top surgeons in the field of IPP. Hakky, Perito, Clavell, Carpman, and a few others that have very happy patients here are all achieving excellent results. Yes, Dr. Eid is the most experienced, but we do cannot ignore these names.

I understand how frustrating it is for you not knowing the cause of the pain. The CT scan is a good idea. You are in control of the situation because you are very informed about the details, but the health condition of dr. Eid blocks you from getting the opinion of your doctor. You need to optimize on cycling and see what comes up with the scan. If anything comes up, you may reach out to any high volume implant surgeon, but bear in mind that, as Newbie said, no one would want to touch you before about 6 months of your initial surgery.

Thanks, you summarized my situation quite well. Providing it doesn’t take a turn for the worse, I resigned myself to toughing it out another 2 months. I’ll continue cycling as I can and hope Dr. Eid returns to practice.

Did this get better for you? I felt the same pain (12 days post op only though). When I asked my surgeon he said it was because the rear tips are pushing just like the front tips are pushing. When you inflate the whole implant has to expand both ways, and out(girth). I think I’d only be concerned about this if you had already maxed out your device to full inflation and can’t get no more pumps, AND feel no pain in the shaft- yet you still feel pain there. Then I’d ask questions to EID.
