I'm 25 years old, and I've dealt with pretty bad ED for my entire life. I was diagnosed with a severe venous leak in 2020, and I've been able to confirm that diagnosis with other urologists after that.

In a nutshell, my situation is that I can have penetrative sex without any pills etc., but only standing up, and even then, my erections leave a lot to be desired and start to go away as soon as I stop stimulation. If I lie down, the erection immediately goes away. Pills make my erections somewhat stronger but not enough to fundamentally change the outcome for me, i.e. let me have less constrained sex. Injections give me stronger erections, but they also go away quickly, and are very unappealing to me since I don't want to feel like my sex life depends on these shots. Moreover, based on my experience with them in doppler tests, it doesn't seem like they would actually help me have normal sex (i.e. lying down, etc.).

I have tried a barrage of different supplements over the years. They helped a bit but had no major impact on the situation. I also tried going on an Ayahuasca retreat to dig into my own mind and see if any emotional or physical trauma from my childhood had ended up manifesting as this venous leak (psychosomatically or otherwise). While helpful, I didn't find any connections there that fully explained or resolved the issue.

At this point, what's left to be tried (that I'm aware of) is shockwave therapy and pelvic floor therapy. I have had trouble finding these services where I live, but I haven't been very enthusiastic about the search because I'm skeptical about whether they would work or not.

I'm at a crossroads here. Based on the context above, if you were in my shoes, would you keep trying non-surgical treatment options or simply bite the bullet and get an implant? I'm of course concerned about the number of revisions necessary at my age. I worry about making this decision prematurely. I'm also hesitant because I can still have erections (albeit very mediocre ones). But I am not satisfied at all with the kind of sex I am able to have right now, and I'm tired. I'm tired from having dealt with this problem for so long. It has been 8 years of my youth so far. I would like to simply enjoy my life.

Thank you in advance for any advice and thoughts.

Are you still on here? Really similar experience
26 years old. USA. ED problem since teenage years. Doctor prescribed ED meds showing some efficacy but not a guarantee. As much as I’d like the implant I now think I should hold off if I’m seeing some results from pills

What’s up dude, your situation sounds a lot like mine. I got “erections” my whole life… they were just shitty af. You were only able to penetrate standing up, I was only really able to do so missionary. Lying down was out of the question for me as well.

Pills did nothing for me, and injections prompted a response, but still didn’t give me what I would consider a true proper throbbing consistently hard erection. 7 weeks out from surgery, I am still adjusting, but I don’t regret it man. The Titan at 50% inflated is harder than my old erections lol. And even masturbating or alone, it’s a trip to have an erection that you have confidence won’t completely disappear in a few moments if left idle.

I think you’re in your right to move forward to implant if it makes sense. Id consider the OTR if possible! The Coloplast classic I have quacks like a duck lol

Wow man thanks for sharing, really helpful to hear the experience of someone in my age bracket. I'll definitely choose for the OTR if I decide to go through with it lol. One doubt I have about the Titan is that apparently in the flaccid/deflated state, it still looks somewhat like an erection and it's hard to hide. I know your surgery would still be relatively recent, but has this been your experience as well? I definitely welcome the idea of being a shower, but I'd rather not be playing sports or going to dinner with a massive bulge if it can be helped.

It's like reading about myself. My ED started exactly at age 25.

Same. No stmulation, erection gone, lie down ---erection gone.

Pills worked then they did not. Injections have never worked even during having the dopller test (diagnosed with venous leakage).

Tried all supplements.

Tried shockwave therapy. A complete waste of money that could have been spent on a implant.

I'm 50 and have wrestled with ED since 25. The last 10 years have been pretty hopeless in the boner department.

In my experience it just gets worse and progresses.

The time i knew 100% to get the implant done was when i popped a pill, had an injection and use a VED with a ring, all at the same time.
That was just after finding this forum and getting to know the facts about this VL condition and implants.

If I knew I had a VL, had the doppler done much earlier and found this forum I would have never carried on with all the pills etc. stuff
for so long..

I don't have an implant as yet and im awaiting having it done.

Best wishes on your journey and the great thing is you found this forum, so when you know an implant is right for you --
you can go for it and you'll have the advice and support of these guys.

You're a young guy like i was and i hope a miracle can come to you--one of which i was hoping for (sudden enlightened dick again!)
, but if not and it progresses then youve got the implant option.
Age 50. ED since 25 yrs old. Used pills etc. Last 10 years, everything, including injections --did not work. Doppler test diagnosed VL. Implanted Coloplast Titan 22cm UK NHS ( --13/02/2024 Coloplast with Dr Win Gan Lee -- UCLH London UK)
