My feelings match Jage64's. As I watched the first surgery video I was turned off by how many times the surgeon flipped the penis over to do something or other. Measuring around a curve can be tricky. Thus the study showing that the average implant length used is slightly longer on PS than IP. Now remember that all surgeons claim that they put in what they measure you at. Obviously someone is just plain wrong in this claim. I didn't care which side was wrong. I wanted the side that used the longest.
Look at the implants. On IP the implants are installed with tubing exiting towards the body. Thats where the incision in the tunica is. So the tubing has to be routed around the penis to reach the pump. Not exactly sure of the routing to get to the reservoir. I've read of several members complaining of lots of excess tubing in the penile base area.
I didn't care about the pain issues. They make drugs for that. I wanted a good outcome even if it involved some pain. Getting your dick cut open isn't for the faint of heart.
Catheter was only a minor concern. As I remember, mine was removed the next day. The nurse was a pro & removal didn't hurt at all. There is no way I'd fly back east or even to Texas to avoid a catheter. FWIW, I'm in the intermountain west. The shortest flight anywhere from here is around 500 miles.
As for my drs timeline on pumping. Please check my post history. I posted his complete instructions a few days ago.
Short answer, there isn't a single thing about my surgery that is changeable that I'd be willing to change if it was done again.

Clavellian here. 100% satisfied.

I consulted with Dr. Perito and was unimpressed with the cattle car feel of his office operations. Waited 2+ hours to see him for :10 minutes. His waiting room was packed. At the time i thought insurance would cover it. It didn’t, snd st the time he charged $30K+ out of pocket.

At that time i gave Clavell a closer look. I’d thought i’d wanted infrapubic but in our video consultation (unhurried) he explained the reason he exclusively uses penoscrotal. (see Jage 64’s post above for an accurate summation).

Clavell was $10K cheaper and i decided to go with him.

My pump placement and sizing is absolutely perfect. No catheter. Dr. Clavell’s pain management is excellent given the nerve block. I flew home day after surgery with no issues. The implant works like a champ.

So happy for you and so happy to read this. It makes me want to move my surgery up lol..

I was considering Perito and even had a consultation with him. I was put off by the cattle-car feel of his office procedures, and was aware of this article too. That was a number of years ago with apparently no other reports of this nature.

He does present himself as a bit of a rogue.
