Days 3 & 4 post-op
- mostly the same as Day 2
- burn while peeing is gone
- Oxy + Tylenol interval now every 12 hours
- swelling still baseball+ size, wondering how much longer ?
- Dr said to wait on pulling the pump until the swelling goes down

- Chuck

Kodixx wrote:Day 2 post-op
- stiches still hurt but burning while peeing is almost gone
- increased Oxy interval from 6 to 9 hours and still taking Ibuprofen in between
- swelling has increased and brownish bruise color but Dr says its ok
- scrotum is somewhere between size of a baseball and a softball
- sitting on a donut seems to pull the scrotum stiches, so I have to sit leaning to one side
- haven't tried pulling the pump down, it seems to be at the bottom and so much swelling hard to grab
- Dr said he left it 80% inflated and it sticks straight out
- using one of my wife's little terrycloth socks to cover the tip, very helpful 'tip' from this forum :)
- 1st shower since surgery, used Dial, no scrubbing on stiches, using bacitracin twice daily
- bags of frozen corn are definitely my friend

For those who have been thru this -- how much pain was there in pulling the pump down ? How do you know if you're pulling too much or creating a problem ? Are there any good training or education videos for this ?

Days 5 thru 18 post-op

Don't know about you guys but I haven't been able to get to the FrankTalk site for a couple weeks. Started with site cert errors then to a ubiquitous web server front page.
So much for journaling LOL !

At day 18 :
- Most of shaft and scrotum swelling is down by 3/4's
- Been off Oxy after day 14 and just take OTC meds when needed
- Discoloration is continuing to go away
- Biggest source of pain is bottom of scrotum where pump is resting - it seem to rub on the inside especially when I walk it rubs between my legs - anyone else experience this ? Is your pump resting at the bottom of your scrotum ? If so, is it painful from friction against inside of scrotum ?

I think I answered my own question. I used to access the site using "franktalk.org". This used to work consistently until a couple weeks ago, and still fails today. But when I use "https://www.franktalk.org" I can get to the site again. I don't know what changed but good that I can get back to it.

I had exactly the same problem which didn't start to get less sensitive till week 3 post-op. Made sleeping really uncomfortable too. I think definitely the friction is the problem. The best I could do was sitting on a donut pillow during the day, and using a foam pillow block between my thighs in bed to keep them from rubbing against my scrotum. My balls definitely don't like sharing space with my MS pump. I usually sleep without underwear, but find wearing pouch underwear in bed helps keep the scrotum from rubbing around.

Appreciate the response Implant 2025. I'm just getting to week 3 so hopefully I get some relief also. I've found that sleeping with a full length round body pillow has helped because as I lean into the body pillow, everything fits in the crevasse between the pillow and bed, and hangs away from my body. My swelling has gone down enough that I'm switching from boxers, with everything flopping around, to oversized briefs with a big pouch. Hopefully that keeps my scrotum from rubbing skin-to-skin with my thighs, and now that the swelling is down might help keep things pointed upwards.

Keep it up!

Patience is key - the pain sucks - so does the discomfort - but for me about week 7 is when it really began to let up. Tomorrow is 3rd month aniversary and unless I'm concentrating on it - or have done something to REALLY jostle it, I don't pay it any attention. I've learned to walk a BIT differently - the "extra testicle" has added volume to my sack - so...there is that

I'm glad this topic came up. I'm at day 3 post implant.

I noticed today that most of my scrotum is black and blue. It wasn’t like that yesterday. I had bruising but not as much as today. My scrotum is really sore and getting more tender. It also looks deformed having one ball at the bottom, the pump slightly above it and offset from center, and my second ball sitting on top of the pump and sitting slightly to the right. It looks hideous.

They told me to start tugging on the pump to pull it down on day 3. It’s already close to the bottom and don’t know how much further I can get it as its pretty tender down there. I also think it’s due to friction. It’s kind of funny that I said the same thing about my boys not wanting to share their space. I started wearing briefs to try to bring my scrotum higher, but that just brings the boys closer together with the pump. I’m going to start using a pillow between my legs tonight when I sleep. Thanks for the idea! I’ve also resorted to placing a pack of frozen peas under my nuts while sitting to reduce the swelling. That feels so good!

That's interesting ! When you say walk differently are you talking about post-recovery ? If so that's the first time I've heard that but I've been wondering if the new addition down there would change how you'd have to walk :)

Welcome to the bionic brotherhood - in case no one else said that to you by now. Wow - it sounds strange for me to be the one saying that :) The description of your scrotum sounds familiar but mine was like the size of a softball (not quite) from day 1. And my pump is at the bottom with the boys shoved up against each side of the shaft. Mine looked like some over-inflated Macy's parade balloon about to burst :( As described in the journal above the bottom part of my scrotum is the source of about 80% of my pain - I believe from friction. My Dr said to pull on day 3. I said the pump is already at the bottom. He said not to worry about it until the 3 week post-op visit - which is tomorrow. I just ordered XL, 2XL and 3XL briefs with "support pouches". I'm just trying to find the right size to hold everything - not sure whether the briefs will stay up though. Frozen peas are good - I happen to be using frozen corn - all good !

Yup, I'm having the same issue on day 3 post-surgery. I was implanted February 20th.

I started wearing briefs to try to bring my scrotum higher, but that just brings the boys closer together with the pump. I’ll look into getting some kind of donut pillow to see how it works for me. I’m also going to start using a pillow between my legs tonight when I sleep. Tonight, I started using frozen peas under my nuts while sitting to reduce the swelling. That feels so good! I'll let you know if I have other ideas and whether they work or not.
