I wonder if there is a difference on how and what the surgeon chooses when it comes to a malleable implant.
What I mean is, does the surgeon have a standard size that they insert when they know it is going to be a salvage project with a IPP in the near future, compared to a patient that go's in and request a malleable as a permanent implant ?
I remember the surgeon asking me before the process if I was considering another IPP sometime in the future as we were talking about the size of the MPP he was going to install.
After 4 Titan IPP failures within 4 years I finally wised up and went to the Malleable Genesis 23cm- 13mm implanted 2-1-24 and no regrets so far.
For those that are asking, I'm going to change the wifeys avatar weekly.

Don't know ..know I have one of the best surgeons in the country ..Never had an IPP just the MPP and he still undersized me .. which could be because he has so many students doing his surgeries .
Rigicon since 6-2023 happy to share my experience and do show and tell

I think there's a difference. The surgeon can be less aggressive with the malleable diameter sizing if there’s an IPP planned in the near future, as the IPP will stretch the corpora to the maximum limit and restore the girth. Infected tissues have higher odds of erosion and conservative malleable sizing might be preferable.

If unwilling to pursue the IPP route once the infection heals, the surgeon can be more aggressive with the malleable diameter, giving the patient the highest available diameter that will safely fit inside the corpora.
