My $0.02 is this. If you can live with the injections, you should stick with that. As good as the implants have gotten, they won't feel the same to you or your partner as an erect penis. You might try switching to urethral gel (bimix or trimix) which which would avoid the painful injections, although is would probably not do anything about the fact that the erection lasts longer than needed. You could also consider intracavernosal injections with aviptadil + phentolamine from Olympia Compounding Pharmacy. This combination is licensed as Invicorp in several countries and would probably reduce the duration of the erection. If you do decide to go with an implant, I'd recommend you be really sure that you aren't a candidate for an AMS implant. Maybe get a second opinion. A number of people have posted on FrankTalk that they have had both the coloplast and an AMS, and say that they far prefer the more natural feel and lack of dog ears with the AMS. I have Titan implants, and the dog ears and cylinders are very noticeable to a partner in the flaccid state. The dog ears were painful for a couple of months after surgery, but thankfully the pain went away after about 4 months.

Point being depending on your girth is what id be concerned with. If your under 5.5 or less your good with the cx..over id do titan. I had some nerve damage because my surgeon said he could do inphrapubic. Not as sensitive as i was but still can get there. Id do it again in a second..mrs smiles a lot more than before :D

Thanks! Yeah my girth is about 6.5" so it sounds like my doctor is on the right track suggesting the Titan.

Sorry about your nerve damage, that really sucks. Glad for your wife though! :D

Who was your surgeon?

If your wife satisfied with your erection on trimix I would not recommend you getting implant. Lifespan of Inflatable implants are questionable. Here a lot of dudes who have broken implants only after few years. With malleable implant you will loss the girth. Maybe if you have fat dick I would recommend you mpp but if you average I don't. Whith Inflatable you will need to do revisions in the future. So I think you anxiety with trimix it's not so bad like you think and probably you gonna just change one form anxiety on another.

That's a good perspective, thanks. I wouldn't say I have "anxiety" per se. But tired of inconvenience and lack of spontaneous sex from the shots.

The injections don't bother me, just all the logistics around them. Having to schedule sex and set aside hours in advance for it is bothersome. A lot of sex during travel options are off the table because the mix requires refrigeration. I'd like to be able to just grab the wife and say "let's go" sometimes. I'm not getting any younger and if I'm going to eventually get the implant I'd like to get it done while I'm still physically in good shape.

I understand the pros and cons of AMS, that AMS has a more natural flaccid look and feel, while the Titan has better erect rigidity and (marginally) girth. I have consulted with two surgeons (Hakky & Clavell) and both have suggested based on my anatomy that the Titan is better choice between the two. But you're right it's good to be sure so I will definitely revisit this with Dr. Hakky.

About the dog ears, I have read that adding a little fullness with a half pump or two rounds them out, at the expense of a little more, ah...showmanship. Is that the case for you?

Trimix was a hassle and I hated sticking a needle in my penis. You are right, sex needs to be scheduled and that just killed the mood for me. Fighting ED with pills and injections seems like a losing war. As much as my recovery was tough it is something I wish I would have done sooner. With my Titan I can be ready in seconds, make the wife happy, finish and resume life. Or IF she needs more I can keep going. The best part I love is finishing and being able to remain inside her for a few minutes without the fear of going soft and falling out.

It sounds like we have similar experiences with the injections. I sent you a rather lengthy PM with some questions, feel free to respond or ignore at your discretion. :D

The dog ears stopped bothering me completely after a few months. They are at the base of the penis and not very visible and not painful when pressed. What bothers me more is the feeling of something hard and unnatural inside. It’s better if I deflate it enough to be more soft and flexible. If you want to know what the cylinders feel like find a tube of children’s Colgate Bubble Fruit toothpaste. The plastic tube feels (to me) very similar to what I have inside. From comments on this forum, the AMS feels much more natural.

Guy was out of Springfield Illinois..Tadros. He also didn't get the revivor back in rt, and it was plainly showing rt after the surgery. He told me to wait 2 months and schedule the next surgery!? I was pissed!!! It was sliding down into my sack slowly and hurt like hell. They decided they needed someone else to fix me, and probably wisely so. The sent me to a Alex Tatum in Indiana. Great Kid..He called me a day later and said is this mr mark walbright? I said yes..he said i hear your having dick problems! He fixed the screwup and if i hadnt moved I would prob go back to him for a revision. Anyways, Best of luck and welcome to the club it sounds like! Clarifying the resovoir statement..I went home from the hospital like that..they let me leave with big lump showing? Also they said i could leave it that way.

Sounds like you had a really inexperienced surgeon, or at least one without attention to detail. I'm glad you got fixed up, hopefully your never issues will improve with time.

Welcome to the forum, and possibly to the bionic bros club!

I'm also 58, in good shape (athletic), and pretty new here. I'm just over 4 wks post-op and very happy so far with my Titan. Glad I made the decision. My surgeon has been terrific with everything going to plan so far. Minimal pain and swelling, good sensation and starting to feel like a natural part of my body already. I too was recommended a Titan esp because of my girth. And, I care more about my erection quality than my flaccid quality. Dog ears have really not been an issue for me so far. Started cycling at 2 wks, cleared for sex at 3 wks and have now had great sex 4 times :)

Pills and injections were becoming less effective and I hated the lack of spontaneity of planning with injections. And, I did not want to risk developing fibrosis, scar tissue of peyronies in the future. It also helped reading how many others say they wish they had done it sooner.

Good luck to you, whatever you decide!
