Hopefully you're correct. But for just in case.

I bought most of my stuff at Walmart & just took back what I didn't use. Didn't use the baby socks. Couldn't find an ice pack that I liked. My freezer dispenses nugget ice so I just used zip lock bags. Buy a bottle each of ibuprofen & acetaminophen. Scour your cabinet for unused pain pills from any dental work you had done. Use them first. Always lift the toilet ring to pee. Note where the stream goes the first time because it will do it every time. Adjust for it. Be religious on taking pain meds. Once pain starts, it takes some time to get it under control again. My worst pain day was day five. Made me concerned that I might not have enough pills. I bought a big tube of pain cream like Bengay. It was well worth it for when my shaft ached. Heck, buy two, take one back if you don't like it.

I'd call my recovery as kind of average. Some guys breeze right through it. Some are in pain at 4-6 weeks after surgery.

If by chance you're curious if you was sized correctly. At my first visit with my drs assistant. Very first thing she did was use her thumbs to feel my head. Ideally you want the tips of the cylinders in the head. She promptly said I was sized right. That was reassuring.

It is a journey for sure. Each day is a small increment better than yesterday. Best of luck to you.

Being prepared is a good thing. Have to say I never used ice packs (hate cold stuff on my body). Spent a lot of time on the couch playing games on my phone. A charger cord or spare battery might be handy. Or a laptop, but don't set it on your lap! LOL
Once doc cleared me to bathe a hot bath in the morning eased a lot of soreness. When I got warmed up I'd inflate. Dress was sweatpants for the first several weeks. Cotton boxer briefs after the bandages were off. Satin boxers in bed at night so "things" didn't tangle up in underwear. The kids' socks (elastic cut off) was the only way I could tolerate clothes for the first couple of months. My penis was so damned sensitive.
Easy to prepare food and/or snacks might be good to have. By day 3 I was walking out around my backyard. I did take pain killers, actually had to ask doc for stronger ones as the ones he gave initially did not help me. Keep up on pain is most important because if it gets bad it will take a long time to get it settled back to tolerable levels. Hopefully you don't have much pain/soreness.
Otherwise, lots of other good info on here. Best of luck. PM me if you have specific questions I can help with.

About the baby socks:
I put them on my list but I didn't use them.

I took mismatched clean dress socks and cut the last 5 or 6 inches out of them and used that like a cloth condom.

It was not optional for me. When I got home I was mummy wrapped but the top half of my glans was exposed and at protruding straight ahead. I swear the air was ~painful for the first 48 hours and it gave me a molecule of modesty around my wife and daughters.

Plan your clothes to go home from the hospital: you will leave "mummy wrapped". That means gauze wrapped around your tender and half erect penis sticking 90 degrees away from your body (I did not plan well on this one).
If you live alone and will be alone while you recover, you'll be fine on this but I needed to figure out how to get around at home for 3 days with my daughters while mummy wrapped (bathrobe).
Plan easy food for the first 48 hours. I bought sushi, soup and ordered doordash Thai food.
Find a show to binge and enjoy the downtime.
Setup your chargers and remote controls for your return from surgery.
Baby socks.
Clorox wipes near your toilet.
Drink plenty of water.
If you have one of those kids toy arm extender claw things (you can search that on amazon) it'll help.
Unisom (if your dr allows) is really helpful for sleeping.
The 2 cuts on your glans are supposed to be there and will go away in a week (I thought it was erosion. My dr laughed at me on that)
Figure out how you'll get the prescriptions without leaving the house: antibiotics (not optional) and narcotics (i filled the script but didn't take them)
I used medical transport to get home but you probably have a ride home worked out.

The first 48 hours was a rough ride for me but all part of the journey. Youll be fine quickly. Its been very smooth sailing ever since and I have absolutely no regrets.

Best of luck. Post here if you have questions.
Oh ya: try very hard bit to sneeze for the first 3 days!

Colby Jack!

Thank you so much for taking the time to post what's best helpful. You've given me several things to consider -- especially regarding picking up prescriptions after the operation. I really appreciate that.

I'm happy to hear that it's been smooth sailing for you after the first 48 hours.

Heat pad.
High protein Low fat snacks. I starved after my surgery for three weeks.
Grab a woman’s tube top. (Loose). I wore one as a skirt. along with baby sox.

Never in a million years would have thought to use frozen popcorn. Never heard of it before either.

Thank you for the creative suggestion. I will definitely give it a try!

Thanks! I didn't think of pain cream but I've added that to my list.

Being sized correctly is definitely my biggest concern -- I'm sure it is for most everyone. Praying they get it right and even figure out a way to maybe error on the side of larger lol.

RobertRomeo, I think several drs try to push the sizing. But in reality it is tricky to do. RTE's are in .5cm increments. That isn't very much over 3/16". So not a lot of room for error.

Drs really try to avoid putting the end tissue in the head under tension. Tension can lead to erosion. Erosion requires surgery & a tissue graft to repair. Generally a bit of discomfort in the glans during cycling indicates aggressive sizing.

Congrats on your upcoming surgery. Your list is pretty thorough. I’m guessing you won’t need all of it but it’s good to have it. They are mostly pretty inexpensive items as well and you can return some of the stuff you don’t open/use.

I didn’t bother with frozen peas or popcorn. My icemaker made plentiful enough ice that a large ziplock baggie with scoops of ice worked great. One on top of the mound of bandages around my mummy wrapped cock. One between my thighs around my mummy wrapped balls.

I loved the baby socks. That cushioning was a big help for about 2 weeks.

A heating pad was really great from about day 3 onward.

Ice ice ice ice for three days continuously. Then i switched to a heating pad.

A jockstrap with a horizontal slit cut at the top of the pouch where it met the waist band worked great. It let my babysock covered cock stick straight up without being crushed by the waist band. A pair of boxer briefs over all of that let me feel covered so I wasn’t bare assed.

I took a percoset before bed that first night figuring I would have pain. Took another in the middle of the night still expecting I was going to have bad pain. It never came. Turned out that ice ice ice ice and alternating ibuprofen and Tylenol every few hours was plenty for me.

The number one most important thing you can do is follow YOUR doctors orders. We all get told different things by our docs because they have different methods. Some say activate (pump up/deflate) on day three. Some say not until your follow up office visit at week three. Some say you are OK for sex at 3 weeks. Some say not until 2 months. Do what YOUR doc says. No what another guy tells you HIS doc said.

In no time at all you will have a functioning cock again. I love mine. I expect you will love yours too.
