Titan Prime

It’s not just you. Once my Titan needs revision, I will get the Prime unless initial experience from patients shows some issue. Just the stronger tubing alone could eliminate half of Titan failures. I don’t see it mentioned, but what I’d like to see also is extra tubing reinforcement (maybe an additional layer of Bioflex) at the pump junction, where most tubing failures occur. But maybe the tubes being wrapped in Bioflex just makes them so strong that’s unnecessary.

I’d also like to keep the Classic pump instead of the Touch pump. I think that is scheduled later, but not sure. I already have to wait until middle of next year for the Prime XL cylinders to be available. If my current Titan fails beforehand I’d have some tough choices to make.

I believe Dr. Hakky actually works with Coloplast. He’d probably have some general insight concerning this.

Dr Perlman: I don’t have experience with this recently approved product so I can’t offer any feedback.

Dr Hakky: Some much needed improvements. I am a fan of it wish it was done 10 years ago.

Dr Loh-Doyl: Yes, when it is released, I will likely be one of the first sites in California

Thanks for this. It’s my understanding that Hakky works directly with Coloplast. If any surgeon has anything of import to say about this device, it’s him.

Glad to see that Dr Loh Doyle will be using the Titan Prime for sure. I had an aneurysm in one of my cylinders that makes it so I have to put pressure on it when I inflate in order to prevent the cylinder from inflating into my thigh. I'm routinely using the implant still, so when my implant finally fails entirely, I'm hoping to replace it with something a lot more durable.

I fear there has been a delay as that person who posted like a month ago has not posted an update suggesting it is done.

I heard they’ll be available end of this year—no announcement as of yet concerning a delay.
