Good thought ED. I was also thinking that maybe I should just let him find it on his own as I wasn't officially given the go ahead to begin cycling the unit but, considering the way that the VA Docs have had me pulling at, stretching and pressing on my sack and the bulb within to try to break/tear them loose from one another I don't feel that bad jumping the gun on inflation. The first compression of the bulb actually took place when I was pressing on the bulb with my thumb while trying to sort of work loose/tear my scrotal skin adhesion away from the bulb. I then had to search out the deflation button and once I had found out how to release the pressure good ol' curiosity took over and led me to uncovering this issue I'm having. I know it will all work out, I'm sure that I could even be happy with what I currently have but, I am currently over an inch(almost1.5) from what the surgeon said he could accomplish with the LGX's lengthening capabilities and I spent months and long hours rehabilitating my penis with vacuum and traction therapies. I am grateful for what I've been given, I just had higher expectations based on my conversations with my surgeon and the knowledge gained here on FrankTalk, hell I'm almost two inches shy of my flaccid stretched measurment and I believe that things could have/should have turned out better.
Probably my biggest concern in this is, with insufficient fluid to maintain pressure as gradual expansion takes place in addition to a softening of the inflation chambers, will my erection rigidity begin to in time decrease? That sounds to me as if it could be a potentially big problem if left too long before resolving.
Any way thanks to all who have listened to my rants, be good, peace...

During the first replacement of my AMS Ultrex, my urologist inserted a reservoir that was too small and I experienced exactly what you describe. I have no idea why he inserted the small one instead of the same size he took out. When I showed him that my cylinders would not fully inflate because of a lack of fluid, he gave me no problem when I asked him to replace it with the larger one. The pain with only a reservoir replacement is minimal.

I agree with the statement that most MDs have super egos. Getting them to admit they're wrong is like pulling teeth.
I'm 75 and got an AMS Ultrex in 1995. Had it replaced in 1999. Got a new AMS 700 LGX in 2013.

Not sure of your problem I have a Titian about 4 fulls pumps does it for me. It sounds like something is not right. The sooner you have it checked out the better, good luck and keeps us informed.

Jer, I believe that I'm ready to live with it if the VA doc dosen't have to go in for a revision to remedy my pump adhered scrotum. That is unless the undersized reservoir may cause problems into the future. I could see where, over time, due to breaking in and softening of the cylinders, additional fluid could possibly be needed to maintain a certain expected normal level of ridigity, but I don't know if this is true or not. If this is indeed true then I plan to press for a revision as soon as possible or at least a reservoir replacement. It's good news to hear that a res. replacement is no big deal, less downtime would be nice if I have to go through with a reservoir revision.
Now to try and find the answer to this latest question. Could someone with experience advise in reguard to needing more saline over time to maintain an expected stiffness level. Could this thing start going soft over time because there is not enough fluid available to keep it stiff . The doc originally assured me that when all was said and done I would be an inch larger(roughly) than I currently am. If this implant has the ability to expand that much more and has yet to "relax" by becoming broken in, do I now have inevitable bionic ED??? If not, and the sack lets loose it's deathgrip to the pump bulb I 'm pretty sure this is the new me, and I'm very very happy, and have been most truely blessed without a doubt by this procedure. Thanks for listening, peace...

Jim, I'm not at all familiar with the Titan devise. I'm currently making 20-23 pump compressions before the bulb loses resistance and no more expansion takes place. I have the AMS LGX700 with the MS(momentary squeeze) pump. I can't get in to see the doc again till 05.15.14 due to other obligations and the doctors limited number of days working at the VA Hospital. I will definately be discussing all of my issues with him at that time. I would surely appreciate anyones insight into the issues I'm having, thanks, peace...

I had a bulb collapsing problem that may give you some additional insight. I haven't posted on it for awhile because the problem seldom happens now but I posted several times on it earlier in a subject "AMS Pump Failure" here in the implants.

My problem was that when I started pumping, on either the first or second squeeze the bulb would collapse and then not refill. The system seemed to be in a faulty mode. I could get it out of this mode by deflating, squeezing the penis as I deflated. Sometimes it took a many as 6 or 8 inflate - deflate cycles to get it out. Eventually my doc said he thought the problem was that my reservoir had slipped downward from the position it should be in and was being squeezed by the inguinal canal so it would not pass fluid. I have an unusually large inguinal canal so my doc was concerned right after my surgery that the reservoir might slip down some day. Up to the time he concluded that was my problem, I had always pumped standing with one foot on the floor and the other on a bed or chair. Then I decided that I would pump while laying flat on my back so there would be the least amount of downward pressure on the reservoir. The problem had been happening once every six or eight weeks up to that time. But in the last 6 months it has only happened once, so the change of positions may be helping. And in the last 2 or 3 months my reservoir has slipped downward more so it shows as a bulge in my abdomen. My doc suggested that I just watch for six months and see if that causes any problems as the fix is to do a hernia operation, which naturally has pain and a chance of infection.

I have been posting about this problem Since January 2013 and so far you are the only one that has anything similar happening. So my situation seems quite unique. Yours seems somewhat different in that the pump collapse doesn't happen at the start of pumping. But it might be that as the fluid level in the reservoir decreases, the reservoir slips downward a little causing the fluid to no longer pass. I am only guessing but giving you as much info on my version of the problem so you can consider that. If you have another version of the same problem, your reservoir might not be empty as you are assuming.

If you can get enough stiffness for adequate sex, I suggest you collect data and not try to do any fix until you have a lot of data. In my case it was a nuisance for awhile but dealing with the nuisance had less problems that doing surgery to replace the unit, so I went with the least problems.

I wish you luck I decided not to let the VA do mine. Here they had about a 300 waiting list and was going to hire a dr with very little experience to do them. They already secrewed me up with chemicals they are not touching the bald headed guy :D

Thanks for your reply Dave, On my second day at the hospital post op, while getting out of bed to use the bathroom I slipped. There was a somewhat sharp though fleeting pain, (thankyou morphine), at the reservoir site and I even told one of the surgical residents that it felt as if something had maybe "moved or slipped" on the inside. That idea was dismissed by the resident as very unlikely. Now that I have been cleared for all activities and have begun my hour long sessions to restore as much size as possible I've found that inflation is most effective/easier if I am either standing or lying down with my legs outstretched. If I pump while sitting or with my legs crossed the pump refills more slowly and no matter what position I'm in I even have to sometimes press on my stomach over the reservoir to encourage it to release all of it's saline.
Even then when I get to 22 - 24 pumps the pump bulb will suddenly lose its resistance and and no further expansion takes place in the cylinders. I'm still not how I should proceed. With no further expansion possible because there is no additional fluid to cause the chambers to grow I feel a bit short changed in that if the proper size reservoir were used or proper filling of the one I currently have was done then I would stand a very good chance of regaining my old size. As it stands now I have lost over one inch in my length and between 1/2 and 3/4's of an inch in girth depending on where along the shaft I measure. But, it is hard as a rock. In fact my dick is now harder than it had ever been in the past, and I used to have bellybutton rubbing throbbing veiny purple headed hardons so steely that a cat couldn't scratch them. This thing is truely amazing and if this is my final end result it's fantastic, though I sure would like to get closer to my old size. I'm due to see the doc again on the 15th of May and I'll fill you in when I learn more. Be good ya'll, peace

Oh, I did talk with my surgeon last week and he assurred me that no matter what the problem might be, that he would do whatever was necessary so that I was happy with the outcome of the procedure...

Does anyone have more information on the issue of the pump bulb collapsing.

After about 25 pumps it is impossible to pump the bulb because the pump bulb stays in a collapsed state.

I assume this is because the reservoir has run out of fluid but I am not sure.

I have an AMS/LGX and never need to pump more then 10 to 13 times and hard as a rock. No way I could get bulb to collapse. Contact your doctor and Good luck
Implanted March 2nd by Dr. Kramer with AMS/LGX. Had a problem lower left (scar tissue) and he placed a larger (thicker) implant as you can here on the YouTube video. Got all back, ED over 10 years before Implant.
