I knew this RN was full of BS when he opened his mouth. I’ve been researching implants for a couple of years. I searched so much that I got to the end of the Internet and that was that!
At one point someone at the VA said, “you know that this is an expensive procedure” and I responded that “my time in Viet Nam was a pretty expensive procedure for me”. After that everyone at the VA treated me much better and things started to fall into place. I don’t know what she put in my records (computerized) but things changed for the better.
The way I understand it, the real exchange of information will take place at the pre-op, which will be 7 to 10 days prior to surgery. We'll see
I did try to see what other Hosp. would be available and the only other was Huston and they only accept patents that had prostate surgery at there Hosp. LR does do hundreds of implants yearly and has good results too. It's a nice place; they just have a weird guy in the urology department, he was the only hoop to deal with. Every thing else has gone smoothly, about as HardDrive described. I am looking forward to having this done, anywhere (does anybody make a do it your self kit?)
