Re: If pills worked - would you have preferred that over implant
For me the side effects of the pills were annoying. If I took a dose that really worked everytime long enough they gave me every side effect except the blue color. The daily Cialis made me have side effects every day. And I had to time the pills to match the moment to avoid unnecessary side effects and be sure to take them early enough to work when needed but not too early so they wore off. So for me an on demand erection that feels as good as it ever did with touch and intercourse that I can turn on or off at a moments notice was the right answer for me. That said if the pills had worked without side effects though I would probably have stayed with them as I wouldnt have known how great this was for me. I would have not known if I would be the rare infection or problem related to an implant. Thankfully I was a success story. I am glad in a way the pills were so annoying and unpredictable since it got me to where I am with the implant which is the closest to a normal functioning teen age penis of all the ED therapies for me.

Pills for me never worked. The injections made it only 33% erect so that didn't work either. My only thought is if the pills gave me a full erection without side effects they I would have used them because I lost some length and girth with the implant. What I have is better than nothing so I have to be thankful although its not working right now and have an appointment with my doctor this Friday. At least when you have an implant and you tell a woman about it you can brag saying it will never go soft on them! They will like that..

What about pills? If you implanted guys, knowing what you know now about being implanted, could swap to having more or less 100% success with Viagra (but be 0% without Viagra), would you then prefer that to the implant?
I am very much looking forward to your comments. This is the exact question I am currently facing.
Thanks in advance.
If the pills had worked I would have stayed with them. In my case my insurance would only cover the procedure if the doctor verified that the pills and injections no longer worked.

Regardless of the insurance company: what would you prefer today if you could choose: being dependant on pills with decent results or having the implant?

Stay with pills as long as they work. When they stop working, seek another option. Nothing complicated about that (and indeed, most insurance won't cover an implant until all other alternatives have failed).

Pills not working well only more blood flow but not hard enough for intercourse. Have to still use VED and band for restrict blood flow out. Going to Dr. Kramer and looking forward to having an erection whenever I want. once healed, will probably inflate just to see a hard on again. Been a while.
Implanted March 2nd by Dr. Kramer with AMS/LGX. Had a problem lower left (scar tissue) and he placed a larger (thicker) implant as you can here on the YouTube video. Got all back, ED over 10 years before Implant.
Re: If pills worked - would you have preferred that over implant
Pills never really worked well for me and I found them very expensive. For example, maybe I was anticipating sex and took a pill to be ready but my wife wasn't interested later on; there goes $20. I wasted so much money!!! The chance of spontaneous sex was poor. Oh, you're in the mood? Just hold that thought for the next 30 - 60 minutes while I take a pill. Rats, it didn't work. And I haven't even started on the side effects. Actually the blue tinted vision told me that the pill might work this time lol!!
But I love my implant. A minute or two to pump it up and you don't even have to deflate afterwards if you don't want to. No worries of priapism damage with an 8 hour erection. At the moment it works every single time without fail and totally eliminated the stress, depression, embarrassment etc that goes with yet another failed attempt. And your erections lasts for as long as you want or need it to. What could be better than that?
Heck yeah. Beats the pills all to pieces. I would be very sad if my implant failed and would want it fixed sooner than ASAP.

I would be very interested to hear why! Implant obviously gives a super hard, on-demand erection. Assuming pills gave a good, natural erection - the spontaneousity definitely wouldn't be there.
So what is it about the implant that makes you prefer pills (if they worked)?
Looking very much forward to your reply.
Thanks in advance.

Thansk Dave, That's a logical and probably wise recommendation.
There are two problems with it though:
1: What is 'work'? There is no clear-cut definition of what 'working' is. Does that mean they must work 100% of the time? 80%? 50%? Does it mean the erection must be 100% rigid? 75% rigid? Does it mean the erection can fade off during intercourse and in the end be just enough to orgasm every second time? Or does 'work' mean it must stay rock hard from start to finish? If 'work' would mean what an implant gives: 100% rigididy 100% of the time for as long as wanted, then the pills are nowhere near 'working'. I think the risk with pills is that one doesn't see the worsening. That one wait too long to say they don't 'work' anymore. We settle with crappy sex and feeling bad because we fool ourselves the pills 'work'. Hence, I think the only definition of 'pills are working' should be that they restore function to pre-ED. Or to a normal healthy man for those of us with life-long ED. Otherwise they are not 'working'.
2: The lack of spontaneity. Especially when your are younger I think we all want to be able to be spontaneous about sex, and not having to make an appointment with the wife. What about that morning when the kids where still asleep and in their own beds when you woke up? I'd have to pop a pill, wait 45 minutes, hope the feeling is still there and the kids still asleep... And this is actually a strong reason to say that pills actually never really 'work'.
The only reason I'd prefer pills to an implant (and I have been using plenty of pills but have no implant) is if the feeling of sex with implant was inferior to the feeling of sex with a blood-induced erection.
Is it?
