25 pumps for very firm.... ideal for sending him into the goldmine.
A further 5 or 6 gets me to pain/the burn/crowbar for my twice daily cycling. My GF currently prefers me fully inflated but with just a couple of mL let out....not soft but also not crowbar.

6 weeks pumping. I get sore at 40 pumps. Have gone as high as 70 but not all are full pumps. 30 is good for sex but to stretch i add more. Never had it deflate or inflate on its own. Like Ed said, pump gets hard to squeeze at first but is easier as time passes. Also when you pump if you wait you can get more in.
