A week ,so that's around 250 a year or so and given the fact that he does several other types of urological surgeries, I would say that is pretty HV.He also teaches at Duke ,so he is well versed in the technique.

There are two types of high volume surgeons. Those that advertise with web sites and those who quietly go about there practice with no advertisement.

Surgeons who do so many implants are probably too busy to take care of all of the other urology type ailments. Can they still be called a urologist or should they be an penile implant specialist?

They are called andrologist

Don't have yearly figures as to volume by Morey but I was told he had done over 400 of them. In my case he had to do a revision of a revision of a revision and the results are perfect. If anything, I gained in size. Very pleased am I. Good luck whatever way you choose to go, but, the shopping around and research are the right things to do. Just remember, every day you wait is another day of ED so when you make up your mind -"Get it done".
Implanted Dec 2016 by Dr. Morey, UTSW Dallas. AMS 700. BPH caused problems so Supra Pubic Catheter and Urolift Prostate implants. End results great. Botched implant by Dr. in Waco, TX 2006. After 10 years, went to Dr. Morey who made me whole.
