I just experienced a very similar thing. Got a Titan implant about a month ago. Recovery was painful, I was constantly swollen until my doc called it and sent me to the ER. I didn’t go sceptic but had a very bad infection. They had to remove the titan and no salvage implant was possible. Spent a week in the hospital and just came back last Sunday. Like you I am healthy only 46.
Did the Dr Eid found out how you got the infection and what strain it was? Also, did he offer the titan again or was recommendation to switch to malleable?
I am pretty traumatized by this whole experience and in my case the culture was negative so no idea really on what could have happened. I am even wondering if I should even take the risk again

Really sorry to hear, I hope you will feel better soon. So they could not put a malleable back in? Do you know how long you will have to wait before putting another implant in? You cannot stay without an implant for too long.

You don't have any comorbidities? You don't smoke, drink, have diabetes or eat unhealthy food?

Salut… also French here :)

No idea how long it will take. I need to heal first before we can do anything about it.

I am healthy, I work out, no diabetes, not overweight, non smoker, mostly vegan… I was really not thinking I would get an infection.
Now, I had a few surgeries in that region and probably some scar tissue. Also I did the tunica expansion at the same time… the surgery lasted 2 1/2 hours so that could definitely be the culprit.

Mat001, I hope you heal well.

Are you on any oral antibiotics and for how long?

In the absence of a salvage malleable, did your surgeon suggest any protocols for maintaining size, like VED or RestoreX?

Yes they gave me 2 antibiotics for 3 weeks. I am still healing and still have some swelling. Anyway I feel much better than a week ago.
Too early to speak about any protocol to maintain size… at this point I am even wondering if I should even take the risk again. My penis was bended on the left side because of all the swelling which caused the implant to erode through the skin… a real horror show with pus coming out of the wound etc.

[quote="LastHope"]Thank you for sharing your detailed experience.

You have gone through a lot of turmoil. Did you also take any psychiatric medications or undergo psychotherapy during this time? It's not something I could personally handle on my own, and I would need professional help to preserve my sanity if I were to acquire an infection.

Genesis is a great device. Does Dr. Eid also implant the Rigicon Rigi10? It claims to have the highest axial rigidity of 6.6 lbs among all FDA-approved malleable implants in the US market. I would like to know his rationale for selecting Genesis for you.

The natural tumescence you feel 10 days after getting a malleable may not be the same after 3 months when the capsule and scar tissue mature. That's just my layman's understanding. I sincerely hope your tumescence remains the same on day 90 as it is on day 10, and I wish you a speedy recovery.[/quote
Rigi 10 has 3.3 LBS or 1500 gram axiel rigidity
And most rigid is tacta by boston scientific which has 4.4 lbs axiel rigidity
You can confirm this on rigicon official site

Rigi10 1 rod X 2 =. 1500 grams X 2 = 6.6 lbs
Tactra for two rods = 5.5 X 1.1 = 6.1 lbs

I would consider these kind of comparisons much more credible if measurements were conducted in the same lab, using the same instruments, and under identical conditions for Rigi10, Tactra, and Genesis.

Until a comparative controlled study like this is available, I would rely solely on patient feedback.

Marketing claims based on manufacturer's self reported measurements are one thing, but real-world patient feedback is another.
