How long did it take for your testicles to go back to normal? Mine are huge at the moment, with the right testicle very swollen. How many weeks for you until things settled down there?
Hello,
I remember that I struggled a lot with pain and swelling on scrotum for atleast 5-6 weeks. You are way too new in this recovery. I can only assure you that it gets better as days pass by. Also recovery is not linear and you will see good improvement post week 5. Just make sure you cycle as required. Cycling will be very painful in the beginning but you will soon get over it. Taking hot showers and pain killer helped me a lot.
Thank you! That’s really helpful! I’m trying not to be mental making myself worry too much, and it’s so good to hear the experiences of others who are similar age and who used the same doctor! Thanks again for posting.

Hello J:
I am a newcomer to a great extent on this site, but have been mesmerized by your journal. It is so detailed in describing the physical aspects of your journey and then topped with great detail of your emotional feelings and fears throuhout the year's event. Thank you for that. You have surely made a great contribution to the well being of many folks.
I had my implant 12 days ago and UMHealth in Miami. I was already a patient there and decided it would make sense to have the surgery with folks already familiar with me. I certainly considered Dr. Cordon and had it not been for my relationship with UMHealth would have gone with him. I am more than double your age but we are very active sexually and want to continue for many more years with God's blessings. After suffering on again off again ED for some 20 years I heard about the implant and payment of same by Medicare and decided to look into it. One of my84 yo buddies decided he wanted to do the same thing. He actually went with another Miami Doctor some 4 weeks ago and has been delighted with his results also. We have both had many of the same concerns i.e. swelling, pain etc that you described so well. I have a great surgeon who has completed thousands of these surgeries, but he is so busy I have been reluctant to bother him with questions identical to yours that you described including feedback from Dr. Cordon and Dr. Eid. Those vivid descriptons have helped me immeasurably. I was sent home about 4 hours after surgery after proving I could urinate. The pain was really tough perhaps a 7 just forcing the urine out. But I did enough to prove it possible so I was released to go home. The swelling over the next few days was such that urination continued to be painful and difficult. Stream was very weak and continued to dribble afterwards for severa minutes. My dick seemed to want a position of straight out so when trying to sleep, it was painful for my jock strap to encapsulate the glans and scrotum. I finally rolled the band of the jock strap down past the glans in order to tolerate the extreme sensitivity in my glans. The by product of this was the additional pressure on my shaft caused my uretha enough trauma to cause very slight bleeding after I finished urinating. So I quickly had to find a solution to that and did with briefs rather than jock strap. My Doctor did not like that and instructed me to go back to the jock strap with some padding at the bottom to raise my testicles and reduce pressure on my penile shaft. That worked after swelling went down over a few days but it was a somewhat frightful and painful beginning. After a week seemingly overnight most of the swelling went down. I had decided on my own to not take Oxycodone after the first day. Our Doctor saw me the second day post surgery and convinced me to start the pain meds again. By the third day I realized he knew what he was talking about. No good comes from needless pain. To sort of summarize, your journal has meant so much to me in reducing the stress post surgery. I have felt much of what you did and could have worried a lot but did not after reading your experience. I am 80 years young mostly physically in good shape. Walk for sure at least 2 miles a day. Have a gorgeous wife who also loves sex at some 57 years of great marriage. We spend a lot of time in our pool skinny dipping which serves as a great lead in to wonderful sex. Obviously we have had to improvise with my ED but we have managed. We are now looking forward to erections that start out great and end great instead of great start and wilting after a few minutes. Very best wishes to you Amigo.

Many thanks for your inspiring message. I am glad that my journal has been helpful to you. When I was battling with my ED and other issues, this forum came as a godsend. I just wanted to pay back in anyway I could. I have wondered many times whether my journal has been useful to anyone. But messages like these motivate me to write more.
Will give a quick update. I am doing well, it has been little over 15 months since I got implanted. Now No real change is happening. I believe that is a good thing. I cycle the device mostly when I need to have sex. Sometimes if there is a long time between my sessions, I would just inflate it to check all is well. The squeaky noise is still present (even though I have OTR pump) Though I find that if I inflate it after a gap, the noise is lesser.
The inflate deflate has now become a muscle memory and fairly easy to do. If status quo persists for coming few years, I will be a happy man!
Will again urge fellow brothers here to not delay taking a decision on this. If medicines/injections have failed you then get yourself an implant. Do give a shoutout here if this journal has helped you take that decision. We will all celebrate it!

Re: Journal- Surgery with Dr. Billy Cordon in Miami
I’m giving you a shout out! I read your entire journal and it has been very helpful to me…I am one of those fence sitters whose ED has gotten really severe the past four years. Yesterday I had a Frank Talk member do a show and tell, which was very helpful. I was a bit surprised that his implant looked almost the same deflated and, when inflated, kind of pointed down to 2:00-2:30. I wonder how common this is?
You say that you have ‘dog ears’ (not even sure what that looks like) that are somewhat painful…these things make me hesitant about getting an implant, but the fact that you have this situation and are still THRILLED with your decision is good. I think I worry too much about having a natural looking flaccid.
I’m in NY, so I would go with Dr. Eid…I know I would be in good hands, but I wish he also offered the more natural feeling AMS…I hope to see him before the end of June, so I will discuss with him.
I think that all doctors who perform this surgery should have a buddy system where men who are willing to pay it forward are paired with men who are about to go through the procedure and to help provide support through recovery. But we have this forum, and I’ve connected with some members here who have been generous with their advice and encouragement.
Now I have to screw up the courage to go through with it…

63 years old, pills stopped working; Struggled with injections and restriction bands for past 2 years, minimal success. I’ve finally come to terms with needing an implant was scheduled for November 1, 2024, but my surgeon is on sick leave.

If medicines have failed you then it is a good time to go for an implant. I am glad that my journal has been useful for you. The dog ears are a disadvantage of the Coloplast implant. It is painful in the beginning but does get better with time. Also some men just pump up the implant (when flaccid) once or twice to make it go away. I haven’t had AMS or have seen anyone having it so can’t say how different it looks from titan. But it is known for giving a more natural look. Dr. Eid does offer the option of an AMS as well. I recommend you go see him and discuss everything thread bare. He is quite a nice person. He told me I should get a Coloplast cos I have an above average girth and an AMS will not be recommended.

First thank u for all your information. I have a few questions for the group:
ED many years with slow onset pills worked until they weren’t, then injection with trimix 13 15cc was a game changer 4 years ago. Gradually had to increase dosage now to 70 ml then about 2 years ago had change in shape and size like overnight. Very Slight right curve no upward curve was normal. Above average size. Had all the high school and college nicknames and partners always commented on size so what I was used to. 7 7/8 L 6 3/4 w. So about 1 1/2 year ago no Right curve annymore and probably 20 degree upward curve. This has now turned into abrupt taper mid shaft. Now base 6 1/4 bass 5 1-2 mid shaft and 7 L. Now Up to 70 cc trimix 13 and with ring for sex. With ring base is 6 1/2 With 7 1-4 L and 2 oclock erection.
I have seen picks of prosthesis and don’t seem to stand up to above 3 oclock.
How many pumps to get full hard section?
Does it ever mimic an upward pointing erection?
How long does it take to pump it up completely?
I have active job requiring all day standing and lifting up to 50 pounds . How long for me to return to work post surgery. I was hoping 2 weeks.
Also I have never heard of dog ears…. What exactly is this?

It takes me about 20-30 secs to pump. I usually pump it to medium hardness and keep adding few pumps while in the act. This makes it easy for my gf cos sometimes she finds it very hard. My erection is not 2 oclock but 3.
Dog ears are a known disadvantage of Coloplast titan cylinders where the cylinder on deflation folds up and is hard and uncomfortable. It looks like a dog ear and hence the name. You can search on youtube for it.
