Doug, if you can't squeeze anymore fluid out (where you can feel/hear the pump sing) after it "auto-inflates", it's probably not auto-inflation but rather relaxing of the existing cavernosal tissues that are still viable. Sometimes when dilating for the implant, they don't destroy the tissues but rather compress them and push them into the walls of the corpora. This happens to me. After I deflate fully where no more buzzing occurs in the pump valve, I have a very loose hang aside from the cylinder folds. Give it about 10 minutes or so and I plump up and there is no way to squeeze anything else out. If I pump back up and deflate again the process repeats.
I have started pushing my penis down whenever possible. I wear adult disposable briefs in bed and I keep my penis DOWN to my scrotum all night every night for practical drainage purposes. This has gotten my hang quite low (about 5:00-5:30 or so on the clock (30-15 degrees from straight down). I sport a 5.5" penis on my good days and I have a 15cm CX with very little buried implant. My hang when deflated is around 4:00 or 30 degrees lower than straight out.
To test if you're auto-inflating or just chubbing up, check the valve. If you can't get the deflate valve to press, try squeezing the bulb once. If it pops, press the deflate valve again. If you get a little buzz while squeezing this time, you weren't auto-inflated but just chubbed.
