I can't speak for all FT members or have knowledge of all insurance companies. What I do know is what Dr. Karpman & my selected IPP surgeon have told me. Both know that I have a straight penis with no signs of peyronies. I have not had prostate cancer either. Both told me personally that my insurance company has covered prior patients with my same conditions. I have no reason to not believe them. I will have to say that I believe there are many different versions of my policy available. I know of at least one FT member that was denied by the same company. Which policy version he had is unknown to me.
To imply that insurance won't cover an implant for a man matching my conditions means that there must be many thousands of men self paying per year. I haven't seen any data to indicate that as being true.
Insurance companies can & do influence medical treatments. My plan pushed me off of Lipitor to Crestor. They said only those that failed on Crestor could go back to Lipitor. Since I got my refills by mail thru them. I thought they had negotiated a better discount. I thought when Lipitor went generic first they'd push me back to it. Nope, still on Crestor, but it finally went generic also.

Re: Life expactation Implants
I was implanted in 16 and use around 20 times a month. I do so as two studies show if you masturbate/have sex 21 times a month it will reduce your chance of prostrate cancer. As my dad and uncle both had, I said why not as it also feels good. If I ever have a problem I will go back to Dr. Kramer as he has moved to Hyannis, MA from Baltimore and found his phone if anyone needs 508.771.9550.
Good luck to all of us and our implants. Wish I had done sooner.

Implanted March 2nd by Dr. Kramer with AMS/LGX. Had a problem lower left (scar tissue) and he placed a larger (thicker) implant as you can here on the YouTube video. Got all back, ED over 10 years before Implant.
