After you’ve squeezed it all it will go, while squeezing push it into your body as if you trying to make it shorter. Then immediately after letting go of the deflate button give it a pump to be sure it is locked out and you get no flow back. I can get mine so deflated that it is almost flat and hangs too limp.. I generally pump it back up 3-4 full wall to wall pumps to give it a more normal shape. And look.

It is like a steel rode right now and is not comfortable for my wife.

As others have said, you can stop pumping whenever you want.

Here's something I have tried. I pump it up quite hard. I press the deflate button for a little while to let it depressurize, but without using my hand to squeeze fluid out. Then I add a pump or two. This seems to help eliminate the creases/folds that I sometimes I feel if I just pump it half full. Pumping to hard smoothes everything out, pressing deflate lets it soften without creases re-forming, and then pumping once or twice stops deflation and adds a touch of hardness.
