If my second implant fails I will be in line for another, yes I have had a revision, but I love my wife and having sex with her on a regular basis makes both her and I happy. I was 58 when I got the first implant. I would do it again at 98 but I will have probably forgotten how to pump it up.

I have no regrets about my IPP. Recovery was medium to what is generally reported. If this fails I'll be getting it replaced. I don't see any sense in not replacing it even as I age. I've reported before that my dr has implanted a 101 year old man. Infection risk is managed by pre sugery urine cultures, keeping your A1c in control. I got an iv bag of antibiotics plus a one day supply of some other oral antibiotic. What came as a surprise to me was my quick hospital discharge. My dr said hospitals are easy to get infections in. Better to be out of than in one. If I was to have a regret? I would of sped up my surgery by at least 1 year. I was covered but slow to press for the surgery.

1. Are the vast majority of you happy with your decision to get an implant?
2. Was getting an implant still worth it for those of you who have had to fight through the various complications?
3. Ultimately we're you able to get those complications resolved without further issue?
It’s 11:54 pm at night on 12/30/24.
Exactly 5 years ago I was taking a Hibiclens shower and trying to get a 3 hour nap since I had to be up by 4 AM for a 6 AM check in at outpatient surgery at a hospital in Austin. At 7:30 they rolled me back to OR and had me knocked out shortly thereafter. When I woke up in recovery about 9 or 9:15 I had my implant and it appeared they had taken me to parking lot and run over my midsection with a large SUV. That was my one and only real complication- bad ass bruising.
So answering questions:
I’m real happy with my implant. If this one quits I’m for sure doing it again. Only regret is waiting.
I didn’t have a bad recovery at all. A bit of soreness. No real pain. Bruising.
My transition to being bionic wasn’t bad either. More shrinkage than I expected and it came back more slowly than I hoped but it mostly came back. I ended up with a tool slightly longer than 6 3/4” and roughly 5 3/4” in girth. If a guy can’t make that work there’s no hope. My pump tried to stay high in the scrotum but tugging on it got it down to a perfect location.
I’m not Dr. Norman Vincent Peale but I am an advocate of the power of positive thinking. I went forward with the implant like I do any surgery—-it’s going to work, I’ll heal up quick, there won’t be complications. If i would have had complications, I’d have dealt with them. I expected none, had none, and yes I’m good with outcome.

Above, Txagq8 said it well. And I had trouble out the gate! 2 surgeries 2 infections ( looking back I blame the facility- hospital and lack of qualified staff during height of covid) and now , hell yes I would sign on in a minute to another implant if mine failed. I litterly beat the dickens out of my junk and it just wants more Lol .
For the lurkers out there, even w a 6 month start up with all the frustrations I would never regret my implant!

Re: Would you go back and do it all over again? Some simple questions for men who have an implant
Yes, I would do it all over again but this is not to be interpreted as a final answer for others. Because this is a irreversible procedure I feel this should be the solution of last resort. And yes I tried about everything else first.
Specifically:
1. Are the vast majority of you happy with your decision to get an implant?
I am. I will let the vast majority speak for themselves.
2. Was getting an implant still worth it for those of you who have had to fight through the various complications?
Yes, There are and have been some challenges but nothing so severe that it would change my mind.
3. Ultimately we're you able to get those complications resolved without further issue?
Not totally, but well enough that I would make the same decision. Sometimes I think our expectations need to tempered. Hint: My wife and I are 77 Y.O. and I think if I had gotten the IPI years earlier it might have been easier for my wife to adjust to. I started VED more than a year prior to the implant placement which helped achieve a satisfactory size from my perspective but somewhat too large from my wife's perspective. Elasticity of the vagina becomes more of a concern with age. As it is often an issue there has always been an issue with her low libido and my high libido. Nothing is perfect. Again, I would absolutely do it again and will do it again if there is a need for a revision. Signature has details.

Re: Would you go back and do it all over again? Some simple questions for men who have an implant
Hey all,
Despite the complication I experienced with an infection of an IPP (10/28/24), I would likely do it again. I have gone through two surgeries in last two months (initial IPP and malleable salvage operation). It’s been a tough journey and I’ve lost 1/2 inch length with malleable.
Despite this I am eager to get clearance in 2 weeks and start dating again KNOWING I’ll be functional. Yes I’ll be smaller, yes I’ve gone through a lot, and who knows at the end of the day I may opt for an IPP if I can restore my length….despite all this I’m looking to having sex again and dating women. That’s the bottom line. I can’t wait!

Absolutely YES! Mine is now six years old and the best most reliable friend I could ever have. No problems at all - only regret is not doing it decades earlier. My advice would be go for it and be patient with your recovery/ progress after.

I'm super happy. I got mine about two and a half years ago, and I absolutely love it. It's great to be confident that my penis will just always work.
2. Was getting an implant still worth it for those of you who have had to fight through the various complications?
My complications were minor. I had an unusual amount of swelling in my right testicle, near the pump. It certainly made me nervous, but the doc just said I was on the slow side of healing, but within the normal range, and it would all turn out fine. And sure enough it did.
3. Ultimately we're you able to get those complications resolved without further issue?
I forget exactly how long it took for the "big swell" to go down, but it wasn't more than 2-3 months. Probably toward the lower end. Just not the handful of weeks some people experience.
For what it's worth, I didn't try anything beyond the pills. I could usually get an erection, and I could even mostly start sex, but it would often go down before I could come. I acted confident, and I'm good with my fingers and tongue, so my partners weren't unsatisfied, but I didn't like the direction things were headed. Also, at max dose I got uncomfortable nasal congestion. I had been using the pills for over twenty years, so it's not like things were suddenly horrible, but they were steadily getting worse and worse.
I didn't even try the shots. I just didn't want the hassle. I want spontaneity. I want to be able to have sex while traveling without worrying about packing stuff. So I went straight from pills to implant, and I'm so glad that I did. My only regret is that I didn't do it ten years sooner. Looking back, there were sexual opportunities that I definitely passed on because I wasn't comfortable enough with the person to feel confident that everything would be fine even if my cock didn't work so well. It worked well enough for comfortable, regular partners, but not so well that I was completely comfortable just getting started, and that caused missed opportunities.
I know that a small percentage of people run into serious trouble, but that's certainly not the norm. I think a higher percentage of people have some relatively minor issue, like I did, that maybe feels a bit scary but it all turns out fine in the end.
Good luck!
