Post Op Day 4: Just a shorter note for today. I continue to have no pain and took no pain medication at all.

Dr Eid’s instructions are to take a couple hot baths to let everything warm up and soften and then cycle as tolerated. My scrotum was pretty sore from yesterday’s cycle this morning and I had caused some bruising. I started cycle tonight and was just too tender and seem to be causing bruising as well. So I’m icing and taking a break from cycling tomorrow. I’ll ice and rest it and check in with Dr Eid on Monday for further instruction.

I’ve had such an easy recovery so far. It seems prudent to pause and rest it for a day or two before getting back to cycling.

So happy I made this decision. I’m going to have a rock hard cock whenever I need and I won’t have to worry about it. Wow.

Yes. Taking hot baths early really helps!! Dr. Eid is amazing. I did most of my cycling in the bath tub as warm water is good for the circulation. I'm glad I chose Eid as well as some surgeons don't allow baths early on and also put in a drain that must be removed later. Not saying that is bad but one less thing to deal with.

Congrats on a great recovery so far. You can't imagine how much reading your journal puts many of my worries at ease. I live in New Jersey and was planning on getting a consultation with Doctor Eid this Spring. I read in another thread that Doctor Eid was getting older and maybe retiring. Did you feel like he was still on top of his game? Would also love to see the incision if you don't mind sharing that. I've always wondered about the size and exact location of it.

Hey Mikol,

We are incredibly lucky to live near such a great implant surgeon. I think Dr Eid is fantastic. Incredibly seasoned, a deep knowledge base from doing thousands and thousands of of implants, the muscle memory of doing the same technical moves over and over. I absolutely feel like he is on top of his game.
Another great thing with Dr Eid are the support staff around him. The front of house office staff have been with him for years and years. His office nurses have been there a long time as well. The office staff are key for coding and processing insurance correctly.

I think you’ll be really pleased.

Regarding my incision: It’s about 1.5” long midline, vertical, on my scrotum well below the base of my penis.

My scrotum is a little bruised from my lousy pumping technique (I’m getting better) but here is a pic of the incision. It looks like there are about 6 sutures that will be removed in his office in 2 weeks

Post-op day 5: I decided to give my sore scrotum a break for a day not cycle today. So no news there but it seems to have been the right decision by the end of the day the discomfort was much less and the bruising was lighter.

Today was the first day I ventured out of the house. My cock hasn’t been particularly sensitive or sore luckily. I wore my typical boxer briefs and some lightweight pants that have some stretch figuring they would be the most comfortable. I was deflated to pretty flat, just short of having dogears. The outline of my flaccid was a lot more apparent than I expected. I’ve always been a shower, but this was getting more glances than usual. I’m guessing it will all soften up over time. I’ll probably choose clothing more strategically in some circumstances.

Otherwise I stayed off my feet and used a heating pad for comfort and to speed the clearing of the bruising.

All in all, I’m thrilled with my progress.

I was under the impression that early on that showers are preferred rather than soaking, to prevent bacterial formation and infection. Do I have that wrong?
58yo in good shape looking at Coloplast Titan. Tri-Mix still works but is a drag.

No, you don’t have that wrong. Most surgeon’s don’t allow baths.

Different surgeon’s have different technique and methods. Dr Eid’s is different than a lot of others. He closes the incision with muliple layers in a way that (he believes) makes the incision water tight. He has found that hot baths are soothing to his patients and make cycling (inflating/deflating) easier and more tolerable.
He also has his patients begin to cycle as soon as day three. Most other surgeons have the patient partially inflated for 4-6 weeks before they begin cycling.

The most important thing is to find a great doc you trust and follow their regimen to the letter. That is what I am doing.
