If 10,000 IPPs are implanted per year, over the course of 20 years that's 200,000 implants "out in the wild". If 30% of one year's implants are revisions, that's 3000 revisions annually. Divide that by the 200K in use and you get an annual failure rate of 1.5%.
That's exactly in line with industry stats of 1-2% needing revision annually.
20,000 to 25,000 IPPs are installed every year in the USA. 50% of them fail every 20 years according to studies. How would you tweak your statistical calculations in that case?
If I use my IPP for 30 minutes sex in the morning and another 30 minutes sex every evening, every day, how long do you think the device would last?
