100%. Appreciate you taking the time to create this thread today man. Makes me excited for what the future could hold.
Diagnosed with venous leak after having ED majority of my life. Grateful to have some answers, and considering both MPP and IPP as options.

Average life expectancy for a man in the U.S is 75 years. For a man in his 20s-40s to live up to that is not a very short time.
It's relative...75 years is a short time in comparison to the Sun's age or the eternity of the afterlife![]()
But living 24/7 × 365 × 30-50 years doesn't feel too short.
I'm looking forward for constructive discussions.
Thank you
I think you might be missing the core of PowerliftingDad’s point.
Life and longevity are guaranteed for none of us. Do your due diligence, understand the facts and the risks to the best of your ability, collaborate with a skilled surgeon you trust. Then - regardless of whether you choose an IPP or MPP - make your decision and move forward.
Your IPP might malfunction a few months in, and you might need a revision. Your MPP could erode or become infected. There’s a ton of possibilities. But in the end, you just need to take the action that’s right for you, hope for the best outcomes, and just be ready to adapt when things change.
The risk of failure for an IPP is a factor every guy should weigh into their decision to proceed + the plan for when that day comes. Also tooyoung to your credit, the HOPE is that these guys have consulted with their surgeon and truly understand all the risks, have poured through the data themselves, and have a proper game plan for the future that accounts in potential for revision, etc!
But once you’ve taken the plunge, you gotta let go a bit and just roll. Stay present, live in the moment as much as you can.

Well said, JohnnyBorg — you really captured the heart of what this is all about. None of us are promised longevity, whether it’s with our implant or with life itself. The key is exactly what you and I laid out:...do your homework, find a high-volume surgeon you trust, weigh the risks honestly, and make the decision that’s right for you.
Once that’s done, the healthiest thing we can do is step forward with confidence and enjoy the gift we’ve been given. Implants are life-changing, and yes, revisions are part of the journey — but they’re covered, they’re medically necessary, and they’re manageable. Worrying endlessly about the “what ifs” just robs us of the joy of today.
Living fully in the moment, while knowing you have a plan if things ever need attention, is really the best balance we can strike.

Hey powerliftingdad. Your signature says that you recieved your first implant in 97 and it failed in 03. Your revision was done in 23. Why did you wait 20 years for the revision?

Often I feel like I'm still in my early 20s and I remember a lot of things clearly, then reality sets in.
I can't afford to worry about whether, when, how or if my recently acquired implant will fail.
When it does I'll deal with it, just like many other events in life that I've had to cope with.
Yes it would be great to see improvements in longevity but I can't wait around for that to happen.
I'm just so grateful to have the implant and the life changing effect it has had already.
Yeah maybe too short for you (hopefully not) but definitely not guys in their 20s/30s.
Don't project your experience on others please.
I'll relate my own experience and opinion here as I choose.
Do you really think your constant inane ranting to a tiny fragment of the implant population, existing and prospective, will make any difference?
If you really wanted to effect change you would be lobbying politicians, the medical profession, implant manufacturers and so on.
There was nothing provocative in my post whatsoever, yet you chose to attack me anyway.
I had an open mind but now I agree with many others, you are just another internet troll who delights in causing offence.
Please stop polluting this site with your endless drivel.

"A tiny fragment"![]()
Now we talking...show your true selfI've always seen behind your fake compassion and pretentious manners.
Now that you have declared being apathetic and the veil is removed now we can speak clearly and technically.
Do you think inorder for the miserable "tiny fragement" to make a change is to be politicians? What is this site for ? Do patients even have the right to deliver any criticism by any other means ?
There you go again. Only capable of further vitriol towards anyone who dares to challenge your constant juvenile attacks.
Yes, I suggest that as members on FT we are only a tiny fragment of men suffering ED worldwide, who consequently may benefit from a penile implant.
I can only go on the headline stats posted on the home page of franktalk.org at the time I'm writing this, and it has probably changed by the time of this post: "18,628 Members are discussing 26,177 topics, in 254,584 posts."
I'll add that not all members are active, or even interested in implants. Looking at the other sub-forums there are plenty of guys who prefer to pursue less invasive treatments. I searched for estimates on the number of men with ED worldwide and came up with with a 1995 estimate of over 150 million men affected, projected to reach approximately 322 million by 2025. Obviously that would only be very rough, and I believe it may be difficult to quantify due to reporting biases and cultural factors. But it will do for purpose of this exercise. It leads me to conclude that 18,628 members represent only 0.005785093% of 322,000,000 possible ED sufferers worldwide. Even if that's wrong by more than 80% it still supports my comment.
Please read my post correctly. Where did I state that anyone had to become a politician?
I suggested that you should lobby politicians and others if you want to promote change, rather than continually ranting on here at people who do not have the power to do anything about it. I don't know where you're from, but in my part of the world members of the public can submit petitions to place their issues before the parliament, sponsored by a sitting member. If a petition raises at least 10,000 signatures then by law it must be scheduled for debate by the parliament. That's one way to influence change. Since the major implant manufacturers and most of the high volume implant surgeons are in the USA, that would be the obvious place to seek change. I'd be surprised if the US Congress or Senate did not have similar options available to US citizens.
Anyway I don't need to waste more brain cells on this nonsense and won't be responding to any further hateful comments from you.

Re: My opinion about Implant Longevity: - Worry is the Thief of Joy
Powerlifting dad. So good to hear a positive note! I’ve been implanted about 3-1/2 years and am enjoying it immensely!! The implant has restored our stressed marriage from dealing with my ED for over 13 years prior to implant
After all the negatives I’ve had to wade thru I about gave up on FT but this post restored my hope that it will get better…… and then it started again!! Oh well. Hopefully we’ll get back to what this site was intended to be…. Been a great one and hopefully will swing back in the right direction. I love your perspective! It’s exactly the way I’ve looked at it! I had gotten to where my injected dick was always an issue so went with the implant! I haven’t let worry or fear creep in and win over my good attitude about my bionic abilities! Hopefully I’ll get many more years with my new dick. If not then I’ll be getting my medically necessary revision! I have always tried to keep enough money available to at least cover my medical deductible be it for implant revision or any other necessary surgery or sickness that has to be dealt with. Keep the good comments coming and everyone please just ignore and don’t waste time reading the obvious negativity!!

Re: My opinion about Implant Longevity: - Worry is the Thief of Joy
Fellow FT'ers, the person, or persons, operating the "tooyoung" account recently posted a thread/message apparently celebrating the potential loss of insurance coverage for some guys suffering from ED. That was the final straw for me -- I put that account, and a couple of other companion accounts, in my Ignore List. Since then I've found FT a lot easier to read, and have enjoyed it much more again.
I normally like to see everyone's point of view -- but as I read your comments in this thread, below, I thought I'd pass along my experience.

"Chris1967" -- Lately, there have been a lot of negative posts in the forum, for example, from "TooYoung."
"daddel" -- Mate, user „tooyoung“ is a troll account, a fake account. Using multiple profiles here. He has been exposed many times.
"Chris1967" -- tooyoung, stop with your negative bullshit. Do you realize that no one here takes you seriously anymore? Do you have no life? You're full of hate and negative thoughts. Is your private life that bad? What made you so unhappy
"PowerliftingDad" - Tooyoung, I'm not responding to your negativity any longer. Best of luck on your journey
"Chris1967" -- tooyoung: You're a poor, sick guy. I feel sorry for you. You should find a forum worthy of your sick ways. But please leave us alone.
"daddel" -- Guys, stop paying attention to the troll. That’s what’s feeds the internet trolls. Let him post his messages, just ignore. He’s the most stupid internet troll I’ve ever seen.
"Chris1967" -- But I've never seen anyone as pushy as Tooyoung.
"daddel" -- Troll: "IPPs break quickly, don't you understand that? You are all stupid lemmings! You’re not allowed to have this opinion! You need to have my opinion!" Troll behavior as per definition. Delicious
