night one at home - slept well - no pain medication, just a couple of extra strength tylenol. . . only a bit sore today but taking it easy. . . resting between walking around the house doing odd jobs that don't cause me to stretch or squat or reach too much. A nice 'water blister" has formed on the top of the glans. . . looks worse than I'm sure it is. . . tiny bit of blood - I think from where the drain came out but very minimal. Interesting becoming acquainted with my new "friend" in the scrotum. . . making sure to pull down on him a few times a day to keep him "nested" in the bottom of the sac. Not sure how inflated I am. . . can't tell what's inflation and what's swelling. That's about it for an update. . . original follow up was supposed to be later in September but one of the docs told me Dr. McCammon would likely want to see me sometime this week - will follow up on that tomorrow.

Thanks for the update! also, if i were you, i wouldn't do anything on the first days. Complete rest. Who knows what might happen right? theres no need to rush things. In my honest opinion. ;)

Call me crazy but I'm back at work today - probably just a half day for the next couple but. . . still haven't taken any pain pills other than Tylenol - scrotum and fat pad above still swollen and glans is still blistered and will surely peel but it's got its color again. Haven't even used any of those bags of frozen peas - maybe I'll try that when I get home this afternoon. One of the docs said McCammon would likely want to see me before my 9/20 post op follow-up so I called his office this a.m. to see if that is the case - waiting to hear back. Maybe I can just take some pics and send to him- yikes - it sure ain't purdy at this point!
More updates as I have them.

I am not sure you can call this crazy or courage. I wouldn't do it. There is no point, I think and I hope you don't pay for it... Just hope. Do you feel that it's healing properly? What about the sweling?

Dr. McCammon's nurse called yesterday to check on me. I told her that one of the other docs had told me in the hospital that McCammon would probably want to see me sooner than my 9/20 follow-up that is already scheduled. I told her about the "blister" on the top of the glans and how it had popped, etc. Since I"m about 100 miles from his office, she told me to take some pics and e-mail them to her and she'd let Dr. McCammon take a look. I had already taken some so I sent them with a warning  She called me back soon thereafter and said the Dr. McCammon and the other doc from the operating room had both looked at them and they both thought I was healing nicely. Swelling is definitely going down - I used the frozen peas trick yesterday for the first time - less "spraying" when I pee but I'll be using that urinal thing for a while (actually kinda convenient!). Working 1/2 days through this week - luckily mostly sitting at my desk - slow week at work. Tylenol doing the trick - no pain meds other than that. Follow up on 9/20 unless something new develops.

Rick

You are a champ returning to work so quickly but at the same time you are healing. Guess it was a good idea to have the doctor "look" at the blisters so that you wouldn't be worried. Shortly you will put " that" to work ;)

Rick,

Thanks for the updates. I'm following them closely as my surgery is coming up Dec.1 and I hope it goes as smoothly as yours. As for returning to work so soon, I think I'll take some sick time to recoup at home!
