Am i the only person that didn't know that after the surgery they deliberately leave you are partially inflated?

Possibly. Maybe probably.

I am sorry that the above comment is insensitive, but it is what it is. And there is more.

Some people study up before having radical surgery and some people trust blindly and jump in head first. I opine that few people in either group understand why the others take life decisions the way they do. I am in the former group and have spent months (after deciding to have an implant) researching to educate myself to facilitate an optimal outcome.

Christopher Columbus did not sail blindly west in 1492. He studied old maps, vast reports of sailors reporting experiences far out at sea and EXTENSIVELY studied the Trade Winds patterns before he sailed off to the "edge of the world". He was a preparer. Contrast with the stories of St Brendan's voyage to the Americas. He was a "Leap of Faith"er.

To answer the question of why, do a search on the phrase "coffin effect". It explains that a scar tissue capsule begins to form around the implant. The larger that capsule is, the less pain there is when you inflate. So, more residual inflation, the larger that capsule is when you are able to start pumping. Then, you stretch and break up the scar tissue to attain full erections. One does much the same thing after rotator cuff surgery and similar surgeries.

What to do to prepare? Take a pain pill (Acetaminophen or the like) an hour before your activation and prepare mentally to accept that the "no pain, no gain" mantra applies to more than just weight lifting.

Best wishes.

I did A LOT of research, watched many videos, etc. but I didn't know that I would be inflated 20%.

To be inflated 55% is not only excessive, but no wonder you are uncomfortable. I doubt the doctor did that, either you did it friggin around with it or you are somehow squishing it enough to pump it up.

My local surgeon told me he would leave me at 80% post-op.

I wonder if he estimates differently that others, but I don't think i heard him wrong. One of the reasons i delayed scheduling surgery and began a vacuum stretching regimin - also exploring having a more experienced surgeon (hundeds per year instead of a couple dozen).

But it does not look good for Kramer or Eid, so i seem to have a choice between my local surgeon or no operation at all.
