I researched the surgeon, Dr. Allen Morey, thoroughly. UT Southwestern Dallas doctors routinely are rated as the finest of Top Docs in Texas. Dr. Morey has an extensive background in urinary reconstruction surgeries of all types and has authored an impressive amount of peer reviewed articles. I'm assuming an implant surgery will be a walk in the park for him, at least I'm hoping. I tried contacting Kramer but never got the promised reply. Also, I'm concerned about traveling so far from Texas and having to ride back in a car for a long 2 day trip after a surgery. I intend to grill Dr. Morey extensively with questions about the procedure I've learned on this site though. Chair of the department of a prestigious hospital is the least of my concerns if he doesn't come across as entirely enthusiastic about doing the procedure!

Kramer may be good, but he's not the only one that knows what he's doing. You've done your homework, now, trust the doctor and don't stress over it. I am pretty sure if your doctor was not good at what he does, you would have had no trouble finding a post somewhere about it. Relax and just look forward to the end result.

When you wake up from surgery you'll find a disposable urinal at your bedside. Take it home with you - you'll probably find using the toilet very awkward, and the urinal helps.
Dave, 80, Maryland - Implant (Titan) 2008 by Dr. Andrew Kramer (failed Sept 2020) - never used due to a stroke that, among other things, ended my sex life.
Life is not the way it's supposed to be, it's the way it is.

100% in agreement! It is better to have it and not need them, than need them and not having them...

In regards to the urinal, that is part of the basic kit you or you insurance is paying for, so don't feel that you are sneaking it out with you; it is already yours!!!
