approximately 30% of the implant is "inside you" in the crura. So, if the penis outside measurement is 16 CM (measured along top from pubic bone to glans tip), then you might well get a 22CM or a 24 CM implant (probably 24CM, but the final measurement will happen in surgery). As on the diagram from Eid's article, the length is from cylinder tip back to the very back of the extender or implant base (see the diagram). If you are 16 CM measured penis, , then figure on getting the 22CM implant (and maybe, depending on your surgeon, the 24 CM)

So did i get it right that the diameter of the ams 700 series cylinder stays the same (18mm) and the titan changes?
What about an titan in a 16cm long penis (visible, base to tip)? is the diameter still 21mm or less?

Tyb & Tang, Thanks for the info and for posting the link to Dr Eid's presentation – very informative. Every once in awhile something like this comes along that makes me realize how little I know. This clearly illustrates the differences in length and girth between AMS and Coloplast and their various models. The slide that confused me was the one that says “Why is the Solid Rear Tip 5 cm in Length?” It appears they are saying the first 5 cm of all cylinders, the part that goes into the crura is solid and non-inflatable, and it's separate from the RTE size(s) the surgeon chooses.. Is that correct? If so, I didn't know that. It also states “The longer the inflatable portion the greater the diameter expansion when inflated.” Apparently, a 21 cm cylinder will have more girth expansion capability than a 18 cm cylinder. Also didn't know that. The photo of the newly implanted guy's erection was also impressive. From that photo and other photos of titan guys who have shared on ft, I'm beginning to think Titan implants, having more girth to start with, result in more rigidity and a better erection angle (closer to 2 O:Clock). My AMS angle is closer to 4 O:clock, (my first world problem). Although my 4 O:clock hard is a vast improvement over a limp dick,& gets the job done nicely, I miss my old 2 O:clocker (when it worked). If I had it to do it again, I think I'd choose the Titan just for that reason.

I agree. Seems like the fatter end would be desirable. Tips on both my implants seemed quite pointed to me. Cheers.

What gland is this you guys keep referring to? Prostate? Liver? Pancreas? Makes no sense.

Could you possibly have meant to say glans? There is no gland in a penis, but there is a glans at the distal end.

i'm looking at the photo of the Titan cylinders. The RTEs look very sharp and pointed. Isn't that the end that sits up against the pelvis and provides supports to the erection? Seems like these pointed plastic pieces would hurt. I'm a potential implant patient so I have no experience with them.

The tip of the rear tip extender (RTE) is against bone and you generally don't feel it . Support to the erection, I think, from what I have read, is provided largely by tissues holding up the implant much as the same tissues held up your prior (organic, natural-born) erections in the past

Please someone correct me if I am wrong; I have been wrong before and do not like to spread misinformation.
