A significant part of the pain came when my underwear or jog pants pulled the glans inward. It really hurt at the tips. When we went out, I kept my left hand in my pocket and pushed my penis inward in the middle of the shaft to keep it from hurting. On day 12 the pain ceased and now I can wear underwear or jog pants and feel very comfortable. Remember, Dr Clavell wants you to let it hang while you're at home.
At 6 weeks you should have a telehealth appointment with Dr. Clavell where he will have you deflate and begin cycling. I have seen where previous patients have started cycling sooner. If your incision is fully healed and you can readily access the pump, I believe you can send him a picture of your scrotum and he may give you the green light.
I can feel my pump pretty well and I'm surprised how low it is. It's all the down in my taint. I'm hoping that I can begin cycling sooner than six weeks.
I bought some compression underwear to keep it straight up against my stomach, but it begins to hurt after a while, so I'm not sure what I will do. At home, I do just let it hang... but hanging for me is just pointing straight out, so I tent my sweatpants or shorts.
My pump is exactly in the same place. At first, I felt that it was too far back and that I'd never be able to manipulate it. I mentioned it to Clavell and he told me to chill out and that everyone gets it eventually. lol
A lot of these post-op procedures were not explained to me at the time, or I was just too out of it and don't remember (doubtful though).
