I’ll answer for adkd124, as I and many others have asked him this a million times in other threads. His stated reasons were loss of girth with his malleable, break down probability of inflatables and not trying injection therapy.

I never really masturbated dry before the implant except when very desperate. I don't recommend it in general. I don't think there's any risk unless you're really giving your penis the ultraviolence. Same with IPPs though. Get sufficiently pumped and do something stupid and you'll erode. The risk is the same.

I think I caused friction erosion or damage to the tunica over the years from death grip masturbation.

I think this, in turn, caused weaker erections and weaker nocturnal erections which then became a sinking ship. Weak nocturnal erections means less oxygen to the smooth muscle tissues of the cavernosa, which then cause them atrophy.

I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain I'm right. And I think this same process gets a lot of guys in our modern, porn-drenched culture
