I am French, and I am surprised that you had to pay 9500 euros in France knowing that social security covers the entire operation (apart from the fees of course which can go up to 3000 euros depending on the surgeon )

As I said in my previous posts, I didn’t pay a single euro, my foreign private insurance paid for everything. It’s a long story but although I’m French and actually still have my social security card, I live in Germany and have an awesome international health insurance. So instead of making the French social security pay for the surgery, I asked my insurance to pay for it and they did.

I provided the 9.5k€ figure for fellow FT members as an information, because foreigners will have to pay that. Health care is not free in France or anywhere else, someone has to pay in the end (either through taxes or directly through medical bills). Many people have asked me how much Dr Beley costs.

The Office of doctor Beley told me that the surgery is 11K in total (clinic + surgeon + fee)

I think is reasonable price, but i didnt fine any other report of Beley here in FT.
