Quick response and said all the correct words but he is not a United Healthcare provider. Talking to a U of MMC financial department person, they may never be. Bottom line is they get more $$ when you have to pay part of the bill too.

Sorry to hear that. It can get incredibly and impossibly expensive if you are a cash payer with no agreed upon rates. Hope you can figure something out that will allow you to get help.

Thank You billb603. This is getting to the point it is eating on me again. I kept waking up all night and it was the only thing I thought about. I am going on 7 years since permanent full time ED post prostatectomy. Hard to believe that it consumes this much time and so many doctor visits and I still do not have an implant I can live with. Healthcare is broken in many ways world wide. Much improved on my end since the ACA went into effect and ended some issues soon coming my way like lifetime limits and the rate roll back was nice with the $800 rebate checks but healthcare is still broken.
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

Well it’s been a couple of years since posting but wanted to check in. My last implant was the Titan XL no RTE’s and has been great. Not quite as soft as the AMS implants but have gained back my original girth so worth it. And the longer I’ve had it the more flexible it has become. One other trade off is the pump I have requires holding the deflate button rather than one touch release. Not a big issue as you can speed deflation up by squeezing cylinders while holding deflate button which is easy to find. No issues with MRIs of my prostate or hernia repair or TSA so far. Frankly it’s easy to forget I have the implant except when using it. Best choice ever for me. If you are considering an implant and have tried other treatments be sure to get an official medical opinion on what’s best for you/options from a high volume implant doctor like my doctor (Andrew Kramer) or several others mentioned on this forum. Oh and mine were all covered by private or Medicare insurance.
