15 days post implant. I do not think I am a wimp. They gave me loads of meds Norco ,Vicodin for my rp. Didn't use them, just Tylenol. I have been using Tylenol for the past 4 days. Yesterday thought felt pretty good. Went to bed not taking my every 6 hr xtra strength Tylenol. Woke up at 4 am. extreme pain in glans and around my pelvic floor. Got up and took Tylenol hit the ice pack and heating pad to get pain down. As stated before I am pumped ridged enough for sex. What was your pain level during healing? Activity level? I am sitting or lying on the couch all day.

Each of us are very different, our surgical experiences were different, etc. I know you are simply curious if you are experiencing more pain or similar pain to others. I was a lucky one who never needed any pain pills after what they gave me in the hospital. I would say if your doctor prescribed medicine you still have that he expected you would probably need it. If you feel your pain is more extreme than it should be at this point, call his office. The glans is the most sensitive for many of us after implant surgery. My guess is when you were sleeping there was pressure on your glans, pushing back against the tips of the cylinders.

You're 76 - don't expect to pop back the same as if 26. I am about 1 1/2 years implanted. Pain can come at any time. You may have rolled over when sleeping or it just may be nerves regaining feeling. Don't let it worry you unless it continues - then let your doctor know. I used the heavy meds for about two days then went to Advil and Tylenol. There are two problems with the meds. One is taking too much - the other is taking too little. It's there if you need it but if you don't need it - don't take it. Good luck with your new super strength. Use it wisely.

It is normal to use strong pain relievers like norco after an implant. I went through my whole prescription. By then I didn’t need them anymore.

I have trouble with prescription pain meds. Many times they make me feel as bad or worse than not taking them. As long as the pain is manageable where I can get some sleep I do not take them. When I do it's just a before I go to sleep and I try to get to sleep before the bad feelings from the meds keep me awake. I do well on over the counter. And did so after surgery. As I had to fly home and walk through 2 airports I did try one of my Tramadol HCL 50mg tablets several days after surgery to see how they made me feel. It was not bad so I took one when I left for the airport and another during my layover 6 hours later. That evening I was moving really well and probably quicker and more than I should have. I have this problem if I feel no pain I forget that I should take things easy so I need the pain to remind me to take it easy. I still have the remaining 27 tablets. As was said we are all different. If you tolerate pain meds and need them that is why they were given to you. Some surgeons take pride in being able to reduce pain and swelling with the way they do this surgery. So this may also very a bit from surgeon to surgeon as well as person to person.

I have been increasing my activity some. At 6 weeks post op I am still not back yet to 100%. That inactivity has been really difficult on me. I am going to try exercising again tomorrow and see if I can get back to 100% in a week or 2. For the first several weeks I was doing very little.

Take care and best of luck to you going forward with this.
