Tomorrow Video Consult - Diameter question

I have a video consultation with Dr. Eid in the morning. I am open to any ideas you have on questions or preparation for the consultation.

I also have a question about the likelihood of gaining full girth back to presurgery size as opposed to length. If you have insight please mention whether you have a Titan or LGX

I have had a prostatectomy followed by Peyronies from injections. I am now straight but lost over 1 1/2 " I cannot bear to lose more. I currently get by with a VED.

Throughout 30 years with ED and a Prostatectomy I lost 2”’in length, but never lost any girth. I stayed steady at 5”. I was implanted 9/18/17 with an AMS LGX. My girth increased to 5.25” just below the glans and 5.5” at the base. Those measurements were immediate once I started cycling. I made a decision not to measure again until my one year implant anniversary, but the look and feel of my penis when fully inflated tells me it is increasing.

Hello,

If your main concern is girth, Titan’s construction is conducive to provide what you want. As Dr. Eid says, Titan’s girth expansion is tunica dependent, so your anatomy will dictate how much it will expand after regular cycling.

I had my 30-minute video consultation with Dr. Eid. I found him to be informative, reassuring, and delightful.

I asked if I would lose any length with a Titan vs an LGX. He was very forthcoming and told me that regardless of the model he guaranteed me that my post op size would equal my preop injection size. He also readily told me that would appear smaller than the artificial engorgement I get from a VED under a heavy vacuum (mostly because of a tightly engorged glans with the VED.) He, of course, went on about his campaign against RTE's.

He also told me I would get an extra pump to take home to learn and practice with. Finally, I was surprised that he said he would send me home deflated to prevent the scar capsule that starts forming around the reservoir from restricting its size. He said I would start gently cycling in 3 days (OUCH!).

Due to obligations I have, I think this will probably not happen until about July.

PS: It was also good to hear a doctor validate that bimix does, in fact, cause scarring of penile tissue.

Dr.Eid does not send people home inflated because he has them cycling in 3 days. :)

I have a Titan. It wasn't my choice. I'm not happy with it. I will be getting a revision sometime in June. My doctor asked me this morning "Which one do you want next time." I told him "AMS LGX". Take a close look at the cylinders on both units. Maybe, if you're above average in size, the larger diameter of the fatter Titan cylinders are a better fit. But, notice that they go flat, not round, when empty. And, notice they don't really bend gently - they fold or wrinkle. And, lastly, they don't stretch or shrink. What you see is all you get.

I will, of course, tell my doctor to use HIS experience and judgment - just be prepared to explain to me why. Maybe I'll be better informed after I get the LGX. And, maybe my analysis is all wet or I'm missing a bunch of details. Please let me know as I sill have plenty of time to change my mind.

Tom,

Why exactly do you need a revision, is it just for pump placement or to replace the Titan?

My implant is infected. It must be removed and "washed out". I'm taking this opportunity to dump the Titan. At least I will then know whether the LGX is any better.

Other than your infection, what is your dissatisfaction with the Titan. Have you been able to cycle it? I thought Kramer leans toward AMS. I am surprised you got a Titan unless he felt you needed it.

I am very interested in your evaluation if you change to the LGX. I feel I will gladly sacrifice some comfort or natural look of the flaccid penis IF I can get more erect size and erection quality with the Titan. Dr. Eid suggests I will get the same length with both but more girth with the Titan but he has not examined me in the office yet much less cut into me. He also said the folds in the deflated Titan become less pronounced in time. He likes the Titan because it comes in 2 CM increments and has less need for RTE's which are even skinnier than Titan RTE's which he is usually able to avoid.

Dr. Eid also told me I can be awake during surgery if I prefer. I hope I get that chance. I would love to at least hear any discussion of the surgical decisions that are made in the OR.

Please look at the pictures I provided. They speak for themselves. The Titan is stiff. The AMS is soft. The pumps are very different. But they both pump up very hard. Before you get an implant be sure you actually put your hands on working models. It's an important decision. For my thinking, Coloplast doesn't have a winner.

I was surprised to end up with the Titan myself as I'm really not that big. I don't know why he chose it. I did have a slight Peyronies curve and hourglass. Yes, I can cycle it - with great difficulty because the pump valve is so high and has a blob attached to one side. It feels like I have a toy plastic thing inside my dick. It folds up and wrinkles when flaccid. It has actually created a new crease around my dick at one place. It has crinkles. It never really goes flaccid. I have to wear the David Archy separate pouch underwear to keep the head of my dick from rubbing raw on my clothes. Just my experience. It does indeed get very hard. My wife doesn't even like it that hard. I'm very worried whether the AMS LGX will be better. Perhaps by about July, I'll be able to report.
