Surgeons in SW Florida ?

I would appreciate any input on surgeons in the Tampa - Fort Myers area. I have information on Dr. Perito but would like to stay on west coast if possible. I have read a few older threads but hoping a member has some fresh perspective for a second opinion.
Thanks in advance.

Type "Sarasota" (my home town) in the Search feature here. The search returns lots of comments from guys and about docs in the area. You could probably do the same for any other specific city on the coast.

My surgeon said if he lived in Florida and wanted to stay in the state he would use Dr. Rafael Carrion USF health. He only uses Coloplast in my case I wanted AMS.

My Urologist in Florida, Dr Edward Kata of Florida Urology gave me a choice of implants. For me an AMS was the right choice. I am leary of Urologists who will only use their preferred implant. Coloplast would not have been right for me.

I agree with having a choice of manufacturers, but for reasons previously debated ad nauseam what difference would brand make if your surgeon uses a STACK of RTE's. Dr. Kata would not be a good choice.

I understand your argument. To correct you, my Urologist used to stackable RTEs, a 4cm and a 1.5. I have a nice firm erection. Nice size dick, and absolutely no swivel. If I develop one in the future, only time will tell.

Another vote for Dr. Rafael Carrion at USF Medical Center.
Positive experience. Positive outcome.
Good luck!

Well, keep in touch. I'm scheduled for removal or revision surgery by Dr. Rafael Carrion from USF at Tampa General on 11 June. Not true that he only uses Coloplast. He specifically asked me "Which kind do you want next time?" I also verified that he uses the penoscrotal method. His attractive female MD Resident brought me complete models of both the AMS LGX and the Coloplast Titan Touch. The Titan was an actual working model with saline. It could be pumped up and deflated, which was an opportunity to see what a pain the tiny button on the Titan Touch is. They let me just play with them for as long as I wanted. I even took photos with my iPhone so I can study them now over and over.

I've been to Dr. Kramer in Baltimore, Dr. Kata in Orlando, Dr. Perito in Coral Gables, and Dr. Eid in Manhatten. I've done this before and I decided to avoid the inconvenience of a long flight or even a long drive this time (I live in North Port). It will also be easier on my wife who is also an MD (Family Medicine) in Port Charlotte. Dr. Carrion's father was the inventor of the penile implant back in the 70s. Dr. Carrion and his Resident spent an hour with me just discussing my case and my options. He's the only surgeon who offered to put a self-dissolving cast in my dick (rather than a malleable) - if he was unable to do a replacement at the same time as the removal.

Perhaps around July, I can report more on Dr. Carrion and on the difference between the Titan and the LGX. I will be getting the LGX this time. PM me if you want more info.

Thanks guys for the replies, and thanks TomW46. You live right up 41 from me and I have an appointment now scheduled with Dr. Carrion for July 18th. Sent PM.
