Time spent is referring to only 3 months taking injections. Is that long enough to truly know that I hate them

Preacher;
I think you gave them a fair chance. I too found them painful. To put your wife at ease;
- I have type 2 diabetes
- I have high blood pressure (controlled with meds)
- I have high cholesterol (controlled with meds)
- I had a massive heart attack followed by a triple bi-pass in December 2015 (now take ASA daily)
- I have psoriasis (controlled with injectable meds)
- I was a paramedic for 15 years when discs in my back and neck herniated (I now take 3 different narcotics to control pain.

I had the implant... the first time I went into septic shock one month post OP but, the second time was great. I now have the implant and can make love to my wife like I was 20 again.

If you have any questions, please PM me.

As my handle implies, I have taken over 1000 injections. The tri mix was awesome for me from the start. I believe that most men for whom injections are successful know early on that it works for them. After additional trauma from a second battle with PC I got to the point that the injections just weren't cutting it. Had I known how happy i would become with my implant I would have done it sooner, as I struggled with the issue for at least 6 months before taking the big step.

Best to you.

Your story is similar to mine

Type 1 diabetic for 37 years (on a pump now, but required daily injections for about 30 years)
Multiple heart attacks, triple bypass in 2010, congestive heart failure
High cholesterol
low blood pressure
kidney disease

I tried self-injections exactly twice, both times within the 2 weeks prior to my implant. The first time I didn't inject right and it failed. The second time it worked fantastically, but I never wanted to continue with injections. The potential for scarring and it being hit or miss based on my two attempts turned me off of it.

I was kept overnight after my surgery because of my health history and they wanted to keep me for observation. Recovery was a little slower, but being diabetic for so long that is pretty normal./

Once the recovery is complete I believe an implant is much easier on your heart since it is not having to pump blood to the penis. I don't know if this is fact or not, but it makes sense to me.

My health history is not unlike yours, but with a stroke added to the mix. After pills stopped working I tried injections for several months but had no response to any mix or dose. I got an implant ten years ago but have never used it. I/we are perfectly happy without sex - it's really not a bad life at all. At some point you just say the hell with it.

I had one injection prior to my ultrasound that did not produce a full erection, and had too much pain to try again. Doctor decided to go right for the implant at my request.

In your case the infection piece is the most dangerous part and your doctors or maybe an infection specialist should be part of the decision process.
