Have read many posts regarding pain after being implanted but not about the reservoir. Being implanted this Friday and am wondering about pain associated with the reservoir placement.

I felt minor pain the first few days. Enough to know it is on my left side just above my pelvic bone but that is it. Keep in mind that I had a prior laparoscopic prostatectomy and Dr Eid said sometimes he has to make a second incision for the reservoir in such cases. He did not have to do That but it might influence how he placed it.

My reservoir location was sore for a while after each implant but just a soreness. Like an over worked muscle when you push on it kind of sore. No big issue. The first implant, I always figured had some air in it because I could feel the fluid "slosh" back and forth. This one does not do that. It could be due to the cloverleaf design though too. Reservoir likely will be the least of it. The only time I know my reservoir is there now is the day after I do sit ups or crunches. Then it will be a little sore or tender. Doing them with my dick pumped up avoids that issue. No, I do not go to a gym. That would be interesting. Cheers.

Thanks for the input. Good info and reassuring considering the size of the reservoir.

Interesting. After I had my artificial urinary sphincter put in last year, I experienced some twinges in my abdomen on the left side where the reservoir was located. These tended to be brought on by exercise, but the problem soon went away.
This year, about 6 weeks after getting my penile implant, I started feeling similar pains on the right side, but this didn’t resolve so quickly and started to get worse. My implant surgeon acknowledged that the pain was in the area of my implant reservoir, but he said that the reservoir location is so deep behind the abdominal muscle that it was unlikely to be the cause.
In order to make sure there’s nothing nasty going on, I’ve seen another consultant who has ruled out any gastrointestinal issue, and a CT scan has shown nothing abnormal. So I’m beginning to think that it might after all be related to the reservoir, although the implant man still feels this is unlikely. Anyway, it finally seems to be going away of its own accord, so I’ll probably never know for sure. But it would be interesting to hear if any other guys have had anything similar.

I have never experienced anything from my reservior. I don't even know where it is. My Surgeon is that great. Highly recommend him to anyone in Florida.

I had no pain from reservoir... my doc told me it’s on the right side above bladder but I couldn’t point to it or feel it...
