From what I have heard and read (in my research) the Coloplast is preferred for longer implants. The material is inherently stiffer and a bit girthier, both of which give more rigidity. A longer implant benefits from a greater moment of inertia (engineering term describing beam strength or resistance to bending).
I hope those men whose length matches yours will have more practical information for you.
Good Luck.

Carl, was your first implant infra pubic? if so are you going to do it the same way again? or do you have a choice.

Carl,
Sorry to hear about the problem. Is there some medical need to get a revision so quickly? Is blood flow being cut off by the twisted tubing or something like that? If not, I'd say take your time and don't get rushed into another surgery.
Does the AMS even come in your size or is it special order only? I seem to recall that 21cm is the longest stock size.
If it was me I'd talk to a doctor that does penoscrotal surgery and implants both AMS and Coloplast.
And why does the entire implant need to be replaced just to get the tubing untwisted? Isn't there a less invasive surgery that could fix that? Why go through the trauma of replacing the cylinders if they aren't a problem?
Also, despite what your doctor said I really doubt the bicycling could cause the tubing to twist. I've been biking long and hard with my implant and no issues. The impact force is vertical onto the saddle but no twisting force is applied that I can feel.
Anyway, hope you get this fixed, but don't get impatient.

Carl, I see lots of tubing problems with infrapubic. That is what I had and am having tubing and reservoir problems. I would not go back to the same doc that caused this problem until I thoroughly researched it. Jamie asked me if I wanted a referral to another dr to get my problem solved. I am taking it slow. Infrpubic the tubes loop over the top from the pump and into the cylinders. Seams more logical to come from the pump in the scrotum up to the bottom of the tubes. WHY loop over the top in the first place?? Also the reservoir tube loops over the top going to the reservoir.
If at all possible I would never consent to a infrapubic do over. Call Jamie, AMS rep and ask her if you can be repaired scrotally. She is a great resource. Do a telephone appointment with Dr Eid or Kramer. Do not let your present dr rush you.
Warenw, brought up a good thought. My URO said 7 inch and up needed a Titan for stability, and he had been doing them for 30 years.

If you had an AMS, it is possible to turn the pump because it is a retangular block. The Coloplast pump is much smaller and round. No corners to facilitate turning.

Can you please tell us what differences you have noticed and which of these you like better and why... Since you have had both, you just became a very helpful and knowledgeable commodity.
