Three Titan Failures since 2013 and need I need help!

Hey guys, here is my story! In Jan 2013 I had a Coloplast Titan installed and all went well and was thrilled with it till 18 months in and the pump failed!
Doc told me it was rare but happens! Second pump installed with insurance paying and all was great for 30 months and same issuse with pump failure. Unfortunately I was without insurance and Coloplast covered the equipment but I paid out of pocket to the new Specialist hoping maybe it was something the previous Doc did wrong twice. Here we go again, October 2018 just 14 months later and it has failed! Once again I have no insurance and need help with options. Question 1, should I consider the AMS?
Question 2, does anyone know any insurance company that will cover pre-existing conditions, since the new enrollment just started? I'm 58 so I don't qualify for medicare, but I am a Veteran. Question 3, has anyone heard of a similar situation and do you think I have any legal recourse?
Thanks for any help

I am looking at AMS pump failure after 3 years so I am not sure the failure rate is any different.

It pays to look around for insurance options for 2019 if you can. I am a federal retiree and called Blue Cross and found out they have broadened their reimbursement for implants. At least here in Minnesota the ED had to be caused by radical prostatectomy. No longer since starting in 2018 they cover any ED cause. So I will switch to Blue Cross my current plan pays nothing for implants regardless of reason.

I would definitely check with the VA. I am a veteran but have never needed to use VA for medical services but you should see what they might cover.

Good luck, you certainly are due for some after all the bad luck.

Wow, three pump failures-was this related to the tubing or strictly the pumps? I would def check w coloplast, I think they should def consider covering all expenses as this speaks very poorly to their product.

These kinds of issues are rare, but do happen with both brands. As a poster mentioned above, I would reach out to coloplast to see if they’ll help cover the cost of the procedure. Maybe a slim chance but it’s worth it to try.

I definitely agree...shame on them if they don't. :(

I feel your pain man....I'm currently on my third Titan (since April 2013). First was botched installation, second had a "tube coil" and pulled loose. Third is working well. I'm hoping not to need a fourth but, I'm also hoping to live a lot longer too....good luck man!!!
