Did you have post-implant contact from doctor?

I had the standard two week follow up, and at 6 weeks I had a trip to the doctor for activation. Then I received an e-mail a few days later saying that they hoped everything was going well.

Is it normal to have additional follow-up check-ups? Did your surgeon contact you at 6 months, one year, etc. to see how things were going?

I went in for my post op activation at 9 weeks and have not heard from the Doctor or anyone from the clinic I went to since. That was November 2009.

My surgeon, Dr. Joshua Fine, Dallas, has been very thorough. The implant was 20 Set 2010. Back for checks 27 Sept, 2 Nov, 1, Feb 2011, 13 Apr 2011 and 13 Oct 2011. Each time there was a physical exam of the genitals and a urine work. There were no symptoms of trouble at all following the surgery. I am now on annual checks with the next one being 12 Oct 2012. I suppose that if you have no symptoms of trouble, the doc says you're ok. It seems to me that follow-ups are a good thing, however.

I see my Dr. every six months for follow-ups with my low T anyway.
I am due again 2/1/12. My surgery was 9/2 and saw him again on 9/17 and
again at 10/23. At the last appointment he said "I hope your having some fun!"
I have taken him at his word, so has my dear wife!. Each time he had to admire his handy work. I pretty much think that is fairly normal. Al things considered I wish I had done this years ago. Absolutely no regrets!
