I'm curious if any men who have had an implant are now currently taking Symbicort or Advair as well as Fluticasone or any other cortico-steroid for long term allergies/asthma/COPD. Did your implant surgeon warn you of an increased risk of infection, as these types of medications can lead to longer lasting/greater likelihood of infections?
Has anyone with an implant ever been on Prednisone (again, another medication that carries a greater risk of infection)?
If you had an infected IPP, do you believe it was because you used these type of medications?

I use Fluticasone and WAS on Prednisone. It didn't cause any problems at all.

I noticed your post today, William7. It has been a while since I have been on the board. My implant was put in over a year ago.
Prednisone worked great for me in regards to daily joint pain for a couple of months. However, it just about cost me my implant when the infections couldn't be controlled by oral medications. It took 6 days in the hospital to get the infections under control, and everything back to normal. I was very lucky. It's great medication, but I don't take it anymore.
