Pump failure - 1 year in

Postby 1Roofer » Sat Aug 17, 2019 1:34 am

Was having sex and felt burning in my scrotum. Notice that I had to keep pumping but seemed like nothing was happening. Pump went deflated. Shocked & dumbfounded. Was supposed to last 6-15 years. Heartbroken

You do have a Titan, and unfortunately the weak link of the Titan is the tubing insertion to the pump. This is where they normally fail (when they fail).
If that's what has happened, I guess you need a revision to fix it.
If so, you were really unlucky though, since the 5 year survival rate for Titan implants is roughly 90%.

I don't believe in these statistics. too many failures for many Titan owners here ..

Doctor said he could replace the bulb & that things could workout instead of replacing the whole rig

Keep in mind 97% of titan owners dont come on here, and a lot only do if there is a failure. (i just made up those stats)

$1,000.00 out of pocket. Insurance covers hospitalization. Will be getting it done in 2 weeks with 3 weeks of downtime

My first implant’s pump failed in March of this year, 11 months from the date of implant. The failure was the body of the pump itself. The revision failed 9 days ago, both Titans with the older model pump, Genesis I think, which worked great til they didn’t.

The new failure is something between the reservoir and the pump because this time the cylinders still hold pressure but the bulb goes flat.

Appointment with doc on Monday and I’m getting a little pissed these folks just expect you to keep paying for their fuck-ups.

The pump seems vulnerable to mechanical failure.....
Is AMS more durable than Titan ??

Have a revision scheduled in the AM with Dr. Hakky. Drove to ATL on Sunday. Had consultation with him today. He believes the bulb is ruptured & is going to replace the pump bulb only. He said if the tubing from the cylinders was ruptured he could replace my cylinders or just splice the cylinder tubing with quick links. He also gave me the option of going back with the newer Genesis bulb pump or that he could replace it with the One Touch (which he said was known to stick sometime). I think I’m going back with the Genesis, but I hope my previous bulb pump was a lemon & that these devices don’t fail every 1-3 years. I’m 34 so replacing frequently seems like a nightmare. Here we go again lol
