Activation Day

At long last, I am off to see the doctor for activation. It has been a long journey since he first looked me in the eye almost two years ago and told me that I had a cancer that would kill me sooner rather than later and that treatment would likely involve loss of both sets of nerves. No matter how much or how little i get to use my new penis, I feel like I have finally beaten cancer and I get to have the last laugh. I am whole again. Praise be to God and a good surgeon. A great victory has been won.

Good for you and thanks to God for his kindness!
More proof that Doctor's don't know everything but God does.

AMEN!

I had 5 doctors stand i a circle and tell me my father wouldn't ever leave the hospital alive. He recovered from the pneumonia, learned to walk again, and came to live with us about 2 months later. We had 8 more great months with him before he died, and it wasn't from pneumonia!

The doctors can tell you what they think, but God has other plans!

Well, it has been 5 days since activation. I was a little nervous but very excited as the doctor pumped me up for the first time. I experienced some pain, it felt like my penis was being shot repeatedly with a strong rubber band. but I hardly noticed the pain. He deflated after a few minutes and asked me to give it a try. The pump was difficult to squeeze but I had read about the two hand method here and it worked. I was unsure about finding the release valve at first, but it was not as difficult as I had imagined it to be. I was not expecting to have some secondary swelling from this, but my penis was hard to bend into a comfortable position for the first few days. I wondered if i really was deflating at times. I experienced soreness at the tip of implants. My doctor had warned me that this could happen and told me that many men can not have sex without pain for some time while the glans toughened up. For two days I did not look forward to inflating, but now each time gets easier. I have kept inflated for probably 3-4 hours each day since being activated. It is now completely comfortable. I have a coloplast otc, so I guess it will never lie flat anymore, but what the heck. Not many 69 year old men can enter a room and get that kind of attention. Now if I could just do something about my gut. LOL.

I am very happy with my implant and my surgeon, Dr Richard Natale , has been wonderful. I will be more than happy to answer any questions about my personal experience with my journey from being told that I have cancer to reaching the place where I am now. I want to reassure men with prostate cancer that it does not mean that life as you once knew it is over. I always believe that the best is yet to come.

Daverx - When you get the opportunity to bath, soak, hottub, or whatever, pump him up. The heat is very soothing. Just before deflating, give and extra pump or 2, it will hurt like heck, but it will toughen up the glans are. I can now have sex and barely remember I have an implant.

Congrats!
